Cards and Loans is a Business Service that helps facilitate account opening, cards issuance, maintenance, and dispute (among others) for HSBC customers. Mostly engaged in “back-office” processing, this Business Service ensures all necessary are taken to open a credit card or a loan, apply service changes to customer accounts, and assist in raising disputed transactions against merchants. Cards and Loans aims to consistently deliver excellent Customer Experience by processing customer requests in timely manner, ensuring other departments in the value chain (such as Contact Centre and Credit Se rvices) accomplish their deliverables within customer expectations.
The Opportunity:
Job holder processes loan drawdowns, applies manual payments, handles restructuring, amendments, prepayments, pretermination of loans and monitors return cheques. Also, manages installments made through payment centers, over the counter, post dated cheques, and balances daily reports of our accounts with our partner banks for payment centers. Job holder also prepares reports for internal balancing purposes.
What you’ll do:
- Ensures timely and accurate performance of all card onboarding through close monitoring of all the Issuing Operations staff and coordinating with other departments.
- Approves all the maintenances performed by the staff within his/her assigned limits and making sure that they conform within the set procedures and policies of the department.
- Acts as primary point-of-contact for any card onboarding raised by branch clients and cardholders at the counter and resolves the issues raised accordingly.
- Prepares required reports on all the tasks done by the section, identifying trends and providing alternative means for process improvements and/or solutions to issues raised.
- The jobholder should be able to deliver assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- The job nature requires a good understanding of the policies and procedures of the department.
- To manage operational risk, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting

What you will need to succeed in the role:
1. Broad knowledge on Unsecured Lending Services including an adept knowledge on HUB, SFE, OHC and GWIS.
2. Broad knowledge and in-depth understanding of the different loan products, systems and procedures.
3. Knowledge in basic accounting, i.e. balancing and reconciliation
4. Good communication, writing and inter-personal skills.
5. Should be detail conscious and should have a high level of analytical thinking for the general improvement of services and procedures.
6. Should have good decision-making and analytical skills, and should be able to work well with high volume.
7. Should have good planning and organizational skills.
