Your career opportunity
As part of the GFOC, assist PC team who is performing P&L Production, analysis and review, Balance Sheet substantiation and month-end reporting processes for the London trading business. Core PC teams are responsible for ensuring the accurate reporting and validation of P&L and calculation of adjustments for P&L attribution and reporting purposes along with exercising trading controls. This includes engagement with traders to get an agreement on P&L and sign-offs while exercising financial controls understanding trading portfolio, trading activity, market movements (or lack of) and other factors. This process, consequently, has two primary elements, a production element, and a review/investigation element.
What you’ll do
- Manage relationships with multiple senior stakeholders internal and external to Product Control.
- Able to interact with a wide cross section of the Product Control function to gather relevant information for global review.
- Assist in preparation of material and producing the pack each month (where needed).
- Capture Business updates / key matters for inclusion in the pack by interfacing with the relevant business lead / key PC managers in each region.
- Compile a list of issues and incidents that have occurred during the month for inclusion in the pack either through HELIOS or through discussion with business lead / key PC managers in each region.
- Assist in tracking of Asset class specific PC initiatives and/or Change book of work that supports various business plans, collecting the monthly updates from the relevant project team or individuals for consolidation in the pack.
- Support contractors hiring process.
- Assist in tracking of updates from the relevant Global PC or FO initiatives for cascade in the pack.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- University graduate from a reputed institution in financial or economic subject or university graduate in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or similar.
- Prior experience in working within Financial Markets or a Treasury department.
- Excellent written English and oral communication skills.
- Good understanding of Financial Markets (products traded and their life cycle, accounting principles and valuation techniques).
- Excellent analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ambitious, driven and enthusiastic.
- Valuation/Product Control experience is strongly preferred.
