Business Finance is integral to HSBC’s purpose and strategy, enabling disciplined cost management and effective capital deployment. Our global finance teams partner with the business to provide trusted insight, forward-looking analysis, and a strong control environment to support decision-making.
Lead the MSS Business Finance Asset Class Support team, providing strategic finance partnership, governance, and delivery oversight across a broadened global and regional remit. The role is accountable for end-to-end leadership of a 7 FTE team (including the role holder) covering revenue forecasting and planning, cost support, revenue and balance sheet support, treasury support, stress testing, and TWD. The role ensures high-quality, timely, and well-controlled finance outputs to senior stakeholders across Europe, the Americas, and global functions.
What you’ll do
- Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team of six specialists, setting clear objectives, ensuring effective prioritisation, and building a high-performing, well-controlled delivery culture.
- Own and oversee Global Revenue Forecast and Planning, ensuring robust assumptions, clear narrative, and timely delivery to senior stakeholders.
- Provide leadership oversight for Europe & Assets Class Cost support, including monthly reviews, variance analysis, and actionable insight to drive cost discipline.
- Oversee Europe & Americas Revenue and Balance Sheet support, ensuring integrity of reporting, transparent performance drivers, and consistent stakeholder communication.
- Lead Global Treasury support activities, partnering with Treasury and Finance stakeholders to ensure accurate analysis, governance and timely outputs.
- Own delivery oversight for Stress Testing and TWD processes, ensuring submissions are complete, accurate, well-documented and audit-ready.
- Drive continuous improvement across the operating model, strengthening controls, simplifying processes, and improving efficiency through standardisation and automation.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Proven leadership experience with direct people management, including coaching, performance management and building capability across a specialist team.
- Strong experience in Business Finance within a global banking environment, with demonstrated ownership of planning/forecasting and performance management deliverables.
- Ability to operate effectively across complex, multi-stakeholder environments, influencing senior partners and providing constructive challenge.
- Strong judgement and decision-making skills, able to manage competing priorities and deliver at pace under tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, concise executive-level insights and narrative.
- Strong risk and control mindset, with experience operating within robust governance frameworks and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
- Comfortable leading change, with a track record of improving processes, embedding standardisation and leveraging technology to enhance Finance delivery.
