Your career opportunity
The Financial Crime (FC) function is a Second line of defence (LOD) function that includes ”Risk Stewards” who are independent of the commercial risk-taking activities undertaken by the Group’s businesses (also referred to as “the First LOD” or “FLOD”). The Financial Crime Function also operates a set of critical controls on behalf of the Group’s businesses (FLOD) by harnessing intelligence, analytics, technology, detection and investigation,. The Risk Stewards are responsible for reviewing and challenging all the activities of the First LOD to ensure that, as “Risk Owners”, they effectively manage the financial crime risk inherent in, or arising from, the conduct of their activities and for which they are responsible.
What you’ll do
• Being an active part of the HCIB RAD team, assessing and articulating potential risks to HSBC from existing and emerging financial crime threats, actors and typologies across all financial crime types.
• Delivering thematic reviews of RAD analysis and/or TL content to a range of stakeholders as required, to support development of Bank strategy, policy or controls.
• Conducting more in-depth research and analysis on the impact of particular FC threats on the Bank, including analysis of Bank data with support from Analytics colleagues where required.
• Proactively identifying, researching and analysing emerging risk, combining external drivers with proprietary insights from regional RAD Analysis projects and investigative casework.
• Delivering timely and accurate reports, briefings and infographics to a diverse set of audiences; we must be timely, comfortable with a variety of product types, and relevant to our audience – including helping the business to grow.
• Supporting and driving collaborative initiatives and governance projects across the Group and Regional RAD Analysis teams, including developing an annual ‘Programme of Analysis’ for the function.
• Providing financial crime subject-matter expertise to support curation of the Financial Crime Typology Library (TL) - a standardised, single source of known financial crime typologies - including reviews of proposed and existing content, working closely with RAD’s TL manager.
