What you’ll do:

  • The Senior Credit Underwriter has primary responsibility for the efficient processing and servicing of Unsecured and Secured Applications.
  • Drive, communicate and manage change to achieve business goals. Ensure a customer service focus to drive improved customer satisfaction, Service Delivery & Excellence
  • Accurate and timely processing of applications ensuring underwriting decisions and verification meets with policy standards
  • Quality service delivery for incoming and outgoing customer calls. Audits and measures are regularly conducted to maintain quality and productivity at optimum levels without additional risk
  • Establish and maintain compliance measures, processes and procedures that ensure all compliance obligations relating to Underwriting Business Unit are observed efficiently, honestly and fairly
  • Effectively support the management team through developing and supporting underwriters
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance processes, service proposition and profitability. Ensure effective systems, procedures and control infrastructure is in place to support operational service delivery.

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • At least 3 years of UK underwriting experience. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong knowledge of credit policies, risk appetite frameworks, and documentation standards.
  • Experience in performing quality reviews.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, especially in complaints and escalation resolution.
  • Excellent communication, with ability to explain complex credit matters simply.
  • Coaching or mentoring background.

Eligibility
  • Personal Lending Authority for UK credit facilities, Expert level required.
  • Not on any form of Corrective Action at the time of the career progression.
  • Year-End Performance Ratings: at least Performing.
