Global Procurement is part of GCOO which is a pivotal part of the Group, providing essential operational support to our global businesses and Functions in helping improve customer service and efficiency.
The Global Procurement Change and Innovation team helps shape and implement Global Procurement strategic change for our customers (internal and external third parties) delivering outcomes that help HSBC achieve its strategic priorities and add value to its customers. The team brings execution and change skills, design led approach and deliver at pace to translate and achieve the desired business outcomes on large, complex, cross-business and function projects including local regulatory initiatives.
What you’ll do
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Programme/Project Management Framework and good knowledge of risks/issues/dependencies management techniques to enable support programme/project manager in identifying new risks/issues/dependencies as well as track risks/issues/dependencies through appropriate tracking tools, involving key stakeholders/members of the programme/project team as appropriate.
- Support the Programme/Project Manager and Business representatives in defining required scope, quality, cost/budgets, effort and the creation of detailed plans including key activities and milestones.
- Establish and update quality procedures, manage internal ad-hoc quality audits, reports quality variance and suggest corrective actions, seek opportunity to improve quality procedures.
- Work closely with Programme/Project Manager and wider change team to contribute the establishment and maintenance of the plan, ensures programme/project activities are aligned to the quality process and governance/procedures; track progress against the plan addressing any misalignment.
- Work with key stakeholders both within and outside of the Portfolio (Risk Stewards and Enterprise Risk Managers, Group Transformation Office, Audit, etc) to ensure Portfolio is run and managed in accordance with Change Framework and best practices and meet all quality standards advised by the Group.
- Manage change requests ensuring impact assessed for scope, time, budget, effort and quality; provide the sustainable value to the organisation by contributing to the efficiency improvement in programme/project
- Translate and action actions required by the Group with regard to Change Framework adherence, Business Cases management and Key Controls Indicators.
- Follow HSBC Change Framework within the project/programme/portfolio level.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Strong working knowledge of procurement processes/services, awareness and strong understanding of the project/programme/portfolio change lifecycle, HSBC Change Frameworks, Agile methodologies and best practice technique.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and spoken) – comfortable with detail, comfortable with senior stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with running meetings over video or teleconference in English.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with cooperative attitude.
- Experience of working in a banking and change environment.
- Governance skills and experience, including examples of the delivery of on time and on budget – a driver with bias towards delivery at pace and controlling project outcomes.
- Knowledge of project management tools such as Clarity/ JIRA/ MS Office/Visio and Exposure to change implementation techniques and approaches
- Good understanding of the purpose, values, culture and fundamentals of Change and Innovation Team/Global Transformation and understanding of how change drives benefits for HSBC, its customers and other stakeholders.
