Global Finance Operations Centre (GFOC) provides a variety of financial support services to business partners over the HSBC Group. As part of the Financial reporting team, we are primarily responsible for consolidation, analytical reviews, leading up to the preparation of the regional financial statements.
The incumbent will be responsible for managing the Financial Reporting operations (IFRS, FINREP and SEC) for HBEU. HCIB Financial Reporting operations is responsible for managing Reporting development, performing Consolidation, analysing financial statements and preparing and publishing of Europe financial statements for external Stakeholders including regulatory Authorities. The team is responsible for end-to-end ownership of key deliverables, including but not limited to Instructions letter, adjustments, journals, assurance templates review, consolidation / assurance checks, substantiate the IFRS and FINREP disclosure and to provide Sign-off to stakeholders.

What you’ll do
    • Perform analytical review (in line with IFRS and Finrep) and provide assurance on the quality and accuracy of data to be used for preparation and publication of Financial Statements and associated disclosures. The process involves performing appropriate analysis and logical checks to ensure there is reasonableness and consistency in data submissions, as also to identify any material errors and omissions.
    • Understand the consolidation mechanism of complex and granular financial information required for IFRS and FINREP reporting Purposes. Review consolidation journals, manual returns (Detailed break-up/ commentary on numbers), ad hoc information and notes to the Accounts.
    • Perform and review analytical review and commentary on primary statements, notes and other disclosures in the Annual Report & Accounts and Interim Report.
    • Be a team player in supporting the planning and forecasting team activities (monthly and quarterly), wherever applicable. Leading Managing the day-to-day activities of the team when required. Empowering team members with skills to improve their confidence, product knowledge, and communication skills. Conducting quarterly performance reviews.
    • Work closely and building strong relationships with multiple key stakeholder. Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and consistency of process.
    • Ensure accuracy, completeness and validity of Consolidated data in the financial statements for the purpose of monthly and quarterly reporting. Build mechanism to track data inconsistencies as early as possible in the reporting cycle and take remedial steps to correct them.
    • To be flexible with duties to manage the peaks in the process. Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of self-identified and internal audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
    • Jobholder is an ‘insider’ for dealing purposes and subject to strict controls and confidentiality. Comply with Group Finance Functional Instruction Manuals and Group SOX requirements and enforce reporting sites’ compliance with certain areas of the required internal controls.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Finance Qualification with 6+ years of work experience. Financial Reporting work experience under SEC/IFRS/GAAPs. Change management, analytical Reviews experience.
    • Working experience on Wdesk and Saracen would be an added advantage.
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word), Saracen and Hyperion.
    • Ability to connect dots and deal with ambiguity and partial inputs. Ability to take multiple inputs into consideration before pronouncing an opinion. Ability to understand numbers and their impact drive and achieve accuracies across report deliveries. Able to review Disclosures and understand their linkage to each other.
    • Have a strong Risk and control mindset.
    • Knowledge of, and experience in planning and organizing techniques as well as in problem solving techniques.
    • Ability to interpret IFRS statutes/ policy guidance to practical application. Ability to understand and implement SEC requirements. Ability to assess impact of accounting issues / Legal structure changes/ Acquisitions and Disposals/ System changes on the FR processes of consolidation.
    • Ability to build rapports with and relate to a wide range of people. Driving change, innovation is a plus. Ability to challenge status Quo. Flexibility to work in accordance with Business requirements. Co-ordination with business area and across business partners - strong inter-personal skills.

What we offer
The pay range for this role is 14 308 PLN - 20 000 PLN (monthly, gross).

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
