Team Purpose:
The Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) Value Management & Change Tooling team stewards WPBs Value Streams and Portfolio teams to define and measure how their change investments achieve required benefits, running effective review and planning through the QBR, and using our change tools & data to improve delivery and build insights to drive faster and more efficient ways of working and improved value overall.  We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join the team as a Senior Change Tooling Manager

Role Purpose:
This newly created role will lead on WPB Change Tooling product management of our JIRA, Clarity & Qliksense tools. The role involves high complexity due to the integration work required with the group managed Clarity tool and the WPB managed JIRA tool. The nature of this role will require the individual to lead on driving a step change in how WPB uses Change Tooling, including providing thought leadership to senior stakeholders & maintaining trusted working relationships with stakeholders at global, regional and market level. The role-holder will work closely with other senior stakeholders across business and technology throughout the global matrix.  

What you’ll do
    • To define, agree and manage the change tooling strategy and implementation activities for WPB
    • Responsible for ensuring all new change requests from our 20+ value streams and central stewardship teams are processed effectively with clear requirements that align to our change tooling strategy. 
    • Building a robust and effective BAU process to manage data migration from JIRA into Clarity on an ongoing basis, and working with our group colleagues to define and implement a longer term strategic solution. 
    • Collaborating with group colleagues to build greater understanding of the value Clarity can bring to the WPB business and working with the WPB training team to build training programmes to ensure that these benefits are realised
    • Being the subject matter expert on all aspects of change tooling across WPB, including the WPB change data model, the group change data model, the different tools that integrate into our core tooling spine, including Rally, Pioneer, GPDM, and in particular being an expert user of JIRA and Clarity to understand if WPB is effectively using the tools.
    • Leading a drive to improve utilisation of our change tooling across WPB to help teams work faster, more efficiently and effectively with reduced orchestration overheads. 

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Have experience of at least one of JIRA & Clarity. Written and spoken communication skills, an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated and presented in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences. 
    • Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same with an ability to have positive, challenging interactions with Sub Value Stream teams across the business.
    • Experience and strong knowledge of project and change management. Have tangible evidence of intellectual flexibility: highly analytical thinker, as well as a creative problem solver; ability to think strategically as well as operationally; 
    • Be comfortable with fluidity, ambiguity and change. Have experience of utilization & management of data analysis & visualization tools such as Qliksense or similar
    • LIKELY: Significant experience of managing commercial or performance outcomes within an organisation. To have previous HSBC value stream knowledge and understanding of our current ways of operating. Agile experience, either working within an agile team or delivering an agile transformation. Proven ability to influence large teams without direct leadership authority, and to navigate and deliver results in a matrix organisation. An entrepreneurial drive, with the ability to deconstruct and solve problems, to investigate drivers and figure out why things happen.
    • Respectful of different cultures, working with colleagues from across key continents (North America, LATAM, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Europe).
    • Self-driven, pro-active and energetic with a positive attitude. 
    • High level of personal drive and motivation to ensure delivery of a broad range of outputs.
