These roles are based in HSBC Global Finance Centre in Krakow, Poland. The Centre as a world-class Finance function supports the development of the businesses across the European region. These roles will be key members in the Balance Sheet Velocity Project (BSV) Finance Team.

Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Balance Sheet Velocity (BSV) strategy will enable diversification and a more efficient use of capital across multiple balance sheets. Shifting high-RWA / low-risk assets off balance sheet, embedding market pricing discipline at origination, and expanding origination while optimising hold levels, will help us strengthen capital management discipline. The Finance project team is tasked with developing a strategic solution to support CIB’s balance sheet velocity initiative. This solution must address a variety of finance outcomes across entities and, in alignment with CIB’s plans, eventually be implemented on a global basis.

What you’ll do
    • Establish the Finance Workstream and associated governance forums to ensure effective oversight and decision-making.
    • Define the programme’s scope, roadmap, governance structure, and success criteria to provide clear direction and measurable outcomes.
    • Coordinate cross-functional activities across multiple workstreams, departments, and policy areas to drive alignment and collaboration.
    • Manage plans, milestones and delivery to drive the execution of the BSV deliverables, including supporting managing budget, resources and analysis to prioritise activities and deployment of resources.
    • Facilitate communication with stakeholders, manage reporting processes, and handle escalation procedures to maintain transparency and resolve issues promptly.
    • Manage Risks, Issues & Dependencies and escalate as required.
    • Prepare materials for Governance forums, ensuring key messages are clearly articulated and appropriately targeted for the audience. Provide programme and project support as required, including managing issues as they arise, coordinating across teams, ensuring activities are prioritised and decisions are understood, and contributing to briefing papers and updates for various forums.
    • Bring a continuous improvement approach and learning mindset, recommending improvements and spotting opportunities to ensure the BSV Project is well run, highly organised, and meets its objectives. Develop a comprehensive execution plan including entity-specific plans where relevant. Transition to the Implementation Phase, preparing teams and resources for successful execution. Undertake ad hoc assignments as delegated by the project lead or relevant business area.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Strong Programme and Project management experience and knowledge.
    • Track record of delivering outcomes for complex/technical change projects efficiently and effectively.
    • Knowledge of Structured Finance and Securitization entities would be an asset.
    • Knowledge of Banking regulations is a plus.
    • Highly motivated to make a difference on a major strategic programme, with high complexity, multiple inputting teams and technical subject matter
    • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and operate effectively as part of a team and contributing to team deliverables.). Strong problem-solving/analytical abilities needs to be able to distil complex problems into manageable parts and plan work accordingly.
    • Proactive in risk and issue identification and mitigation, with the ability to recognize where MI should be escalated for further review. Ability to effectively work with global and regional teams in Risk, Finance and other functions. Pro-active approach to process improvement.
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office particularly Excel and VBA. Strong analytical ability, tenacity and sound commercial judgment. Confidence to communicate and build strong relationships with finance staff at all levels of the Group. Ability to meet tight deadlines while working independently.

What we offer

The pay range for this role is 22 000 PLN - 28 000 PLN (monthly, gross).

Additional car allowance in the amount of 4620 PLN (monthly, gross).

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
