The Global Head of Climate Risk and Regional Head of CIB and HBEU; Climate, Reputational and Sustainability Risk is an exciting leadership opportunity that will form part of the Global Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Climate Risk across HSBC and Climate, Reputational & Sustainability Risk across CIB & HBEU is managed, embedded and adheres to the defined standards as per the appropriate frameworks, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

In this role you will:

•    Take a lead in defining the Group approach for management of Climate Risk, ensuring climate risks that are relevant to each risk type in HSBC’s risk taxonomy are identified, assessed, and managed within appetite across our businesses and functions at global, regional and market level.  
•    Lead change initiation, design and delivery and be accountable for successful delivery of refreshed or new approaches on priority matters.
•    Contribute to relevant Transformation Programmes within the Group by proactively engaging and assisting in the identification and mitigation of risk. 
•    Provide stewardship over 1LoD activities related to Reputational, Climate and Sustainability Risk across CIB & HBEU, delivering effective Risk Stewardship in line with the Risk Management Framework.
•    Provide technical advice and support to the across the 1LOD ensuring they understand and are aware of the control environment and assessment of risk in relation to climate risk globally and Reputational and Sustainability Risk in respect of HBEU and CIB. 

Requisitos

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    Must have thorough prior experience in Climate and/ or Sustainability Experience and can confidently understand the impact of these risks within HSBC Group. 
•    Strong knowledge of the relevant regulatory landscape and ability to access the impact of proposed changes in regulatory rules to the bank, especially those pertaining to climate, reputational and sustainability risk.
•    Deep knowledge of a financial institutions business model, products and key risk drivers and a demonstrated ability to effectively balance risk management, regulatory expectations and commercial pragmatism.
•    Technical expertise of climate, reputational and sustainability risk, including how this risk can be identified, assessed, monitored and controlled and mitigated where relevant.
•    Experience of establishing and maintaining external relationships, including some experience of interfacing with regulators.
•    Proven ability to develop strong networks with key stakeholders at all points in a matrix structure, this includes influencing and attaining buy-in where required. 
•    Prior experience leading a team. 
•    Providing expert advice and robust challenge, delivering risk management policies and managing risks and controls.

This role is based in London on a hybrid working basis.
