The position lies within our Equities Stock Lending Operations specialising in Settlements under the Market & Securities Services Operation umbrella. The job holder is responsible to support Clearing & Settlement activities in performing affirming, chasing, amending and escalating until settlement of the trade. We are a global team covering multiple balance sheets for Stock Lending product under the Markets business.

The Opportunity:

Continuously provide high quality settlements processing in a timely manner to achieve maximum client satisfaction and matching market requirements. Responsible for relationship building and resolving all inquiries in a professional manner (where applicable).

The role will be working relevant shift hours i.e. HK/UK/Paris with a possibility for staggered work hours. There is no direct report for this role.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure trade settlement will be executed by timeliness and provide support in a subset of processing functions including documentation and Management Information (MI) reporting.  
  • Assist in managing Operational Risk and Control within the process and the business through query handling and escalation.
  • Ensure the escalation of all problems/risk issues to the line management, relevant stakeholders and the appropriate levels of management as per escalation matrix, in a timely manner.
  • Ensure effective management of risk and controls in line with the Risk Management Control Framework.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
Requisitos

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • A minimum of a BA/BS/BC degree.
  • Strong culture of ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to speak and understand English fluently with exceptional business communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills as well as a strong eye for detail are required.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast pace and high-pressure environment against tight timelines.
  • Knowledge of Equity products is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of front to back trade lifecycle process, stock lending product, operational risks, procedures and controls.
  • Strong knowledge in trade level investigation.
  • Comfortable working with global stakeholders.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Ability to learn quickly and transfer knowledge effectively and accurately.
  • Knowledge of MS Office coupled with good numerical and analytical skills – be able to understand, analyze, and communicate data in a concise, logical and visually stimulating form. 
  • Technical / IT understanding of how trading and order management systems operate is desirable.
  • Robotics and Excel automation knowledge is desirable.
