The Opportunity:

• This role sits within GTS Centre of Excellence (COE) team responsible for Chief Product Office (CPO) and will support the gathering of detailed data requirements from stakeholders to deliver analytic use cases

• The person in this role will drive actionable insights that improve business outcomes, ability to communicate findings to stakeholders, display strong analytical skills and business acumen

• This role will also provide visibility to work and interact with GTS management team, key business stakeholders like Global Product Owners, Country Product Head, Country Product Managers, Business Service Head in building insights and review of data assets aligned to business outcomes

• This role involves analyzing business performance metrics, OKR, scorecards, dashboard, and partner across teams to translate data into business insights and strategic recommendations

What you’ll do:

• Provide specialist support in handling activities relating to improved data quality across global and country product teams

• Support your manager in preparing and delivering data-driven performance updates to GTS leadership teams 

• Constantly look for ways to improve automated data sourcing across current GTS systems and processes

• Exercise a high degree of adherence in uncovering data inconsistencies across various GTS source systems and reports and validate for accuracy to support quality reviews undertaken by the team

• Identify opportunities in commercializing our data to improve client and colleague experience, increase revenue, improve risk management and reduce manual handling of data sourcing & handling

• Help in gathering of detailed data requirements for stakeholders to deliver analytics and reports helping their ongoing review process

What you will need to succeed in the role:

• The ideal candidate for this role to have:

• An undergraduate or post-graduate qualification in related fields

• Skills that translate to asking the right questions, understanding the tasks, and communicating ideas and actions clearly

• Knowledge of Data Computing or exposure to Data Quality assessment and control techniques is a plus.

• Good analytical skills especially in understanding business processes, P&L, client management and product management

• Strong at using Microsoft product suite (Excel, Power Point, etc.)

• Ability to deliver on timelines and working on large set of risk data

• Experience in managing and delivering project or programs in your current role is desirable

• Ability to prioritize and work independently under pressure within a global matrix team environment

• Excellent spoken, written communication skills

• Good interpersonal skills required, with an ability to collaborate with colleagues across segments (sales, finance, services) and geographies being essential

• Good GTS product knowledge and understanding of GTS product risks is desirable

• TM1 and Omnia knowledge is preferred

Key Data Skills:

• Experience in OKR / Performance Frameworks (e.g., Scorecard, HSBC P&L, etc)

• Ability to challenge assumptions and validate data accuracy

• Identify trends, anomalies, and cause-effect relationship in data

• Ability to turn numbers into actionable insights & business plan (data story telling)

• Craft clear and compelling narratives for stakeholders

• Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes

Technical Skills:  

• SQL- Ability to create / query relational database efficiently SQL lite, MySQL

Data Cleaning & Preparation

• Ability to handle missing values, outliers, duplicates and inconsistent data

• Experience to create / query relational database efficiently SQL lite, MySQL

Programming (typically Python)

• Data manipulation (Pandas, dplyr), visualization (Matplotlib, ggplot2), and analysis.

• Automation libraries for Excel and Power point

Data Visualization Tools

• User proficiency in tools like Power BI, QlikSense

• Ability to create dashboards and communicate insights visually.

What additional skills will be good to have?

• Ability to foster relations with stakeholders outside of one’s own sphere of managerial influence is essential.

• Ability to present business cases to senior colleagues while demonstrating an understanding of the 

  underlying risks and assessments thereof will be a plus
