We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Head of Corporate Models and Methodology.

As Head of HBUK Corporate Models and Methdology your main responsibilities will be to manage the HBUK Corporate models and the associated IRB Corporate modelling methodollogies.

The HBUK Corporate models include the HBUK LBO PD model, the HBUK Middle Market and Wholesale SME PD models, as well as the HBUK Middle Market and Wholesale Small and Medium Enterprise EAD and LGD models. You will be accountable for the relationship with the internal and external stakeholders from the rest of the analytics community, such as Independent Model Review (IMR) and Model Risk Management (MRM), UK  business and Risk representatives, as well as LIBRA program management. You will be also accountable for defining via the IRB Methodology Committee the modelling methodologies for IRB models covering Corporate portfolios.

In this role, you will: 

•    Led, develop and manage a team of manage a team of 20+ modellers based in the UK as well as in the analytics centres of excellence in India and Poland.
•    Take responsibility for the modelling methodology related to the IRB models for Corporate Portfolios, such as Mid Market, Wholesale Small and Medium Enterprise and Leverage Buy Out portfolios.
•    Be accountable for ensuring that HBUK models for Wholesale Credit Risks are fit for purpose and are compliant with the appropriate regulations and industry standards.
•    Deliver the Wholesale IRB models for HBUK Corporate portfolios to meet the regulatory commitments of HSBC as part of the PRA PSM Remediation program.
•    Oversight the application of the corporate modelling methodologies across the other HBSC locations

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: 

•    Expertise in quantitative analytics and use of sophisticated tools for numerical analysis and computer programming (e.g. R/Python/Matlab/SAS). 
•    Knowledge of credit risk and portfolio management, wholesale credit & lending business and products
•    Strong understanding of Wholesale credit risk parameter modelling and their use in capital, ECL projections and Stress Testing. 
•    Strong knowledge of relevant IRB regulations and accounting standards.
•    A master’s or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline like Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Engineering would be beneficia
