Role holder will manage and be responsible for the Regional Prime Finance business, delivering a full range of products, services and solutions to clients. Assist with the regional development of the high level strategy covering all aspects of the Prime Finance business, putting in place the resources and overall budget which will ensure successful execution measured through P&L results, client feedback and industry surveys. As well as deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets. Role holder will communicate commercial opportunities and optimization strategies across, upward and downward and provide senior oversight of the inventory and trading risk, in compliance with all applicable regulation, within the Global Prime Finance business.

As our Head of Prime Finance, Americas you will:

  • Manage the regional Prime Finance business to create value thus ensuring maximum sustainable economic profit for the Group
  • Daily oversight of trading, financing and front-to-back platform operational activities that support the business
  • Oversight on client financial, legal and credit terms where required
  • Set business strategy at a regional level whilst ensuring alignment with the global strategy
  • Support the development of business strategy as required and implement through driving achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost containment
  • Continually assess opportunities to enhance intra Group activity and to support the Group’s strategic imperative to align Markets and Securities Services more closely through the referral of business opportunities, co-ordination of client relationships and operational quality and efficiency
  • External and Internal Clients: Networks, develops and nurtures client relationships, anticipates and identifies their needs
    • Internal Collaboration: Develops close and effective working relationships within respective Regions/Countries/Functions/Global Businesses
    • External bodies: builds and maintains relationships with external partners, regulators, industry bodies and others to keep up to date with developments
  • Anticipates the needs and expectations of, and interacts with, regulators and internal/external audit functions in the development, delivery and management of the business
  • Extensive senior management leadership of a full-service Prime Brokerage / Multi-Asset Client Financing business
  • Advanced technical understanding of across key product and service areas including: Margin Lending, Synthetic Financing, Securities Lending, Client Management, Client Onboarding, Risk, Client Analytics and Financial Resource Management
  • Develop and communicate a powerful and compelling vision that inspires and engages people with the HSBC Values and goals as the basis of an inclusive, high performance, customer-centred culture
  • Lead, develop and motivate the leadership team to attract, retain and develop the capacity, capability and talent to provide for succession and ensure delivery of business objectives
  • Drive the continuing development or transformation of business operating model to ensure the business operates increasingly effectively and efficiently and is able to deliver HSBC’s strategic goals
  • Establish and maintain a robust and efficient control environment across the business, to ensure good operational, financial and project management, compliance with HSBC policy and procedures and adherence to HSBC’s “Three Lines of Defence” Model, together with early identification and effective resolution of issues that arise

As a supervisor the jobholder will be required to comply with the Bank’s policies and procedures on effective Front Office Supervision. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervisors are responsible for managing and reviewing the day to day activity on their desks
  • Monitor that employees’ activities and behaviours comply with all HSBC standards, policies and procedures (GSM/FIM) including legal, regulatory and exchange rules and the HSBC Code of Conduct
  • Ensure that employees’ activities adhere to local regulatory policies applicable to the traders and balance sheet location
  • Monitor that all transactions deliver fair outcomes for our customers and do not disrupt the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets and are in line with the HSBC Code of Conduct
  • At a minimum, the jobholder will have to comply with Markets FIM B11.26 and Front Office Supervisory Control Policy 

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $350,000.00 and $400,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requisitos

You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Extensive senior management leadership of a full-service Prime Brokerage / Multi-Asset Client Financing business
  • Advanced technical understanding of across key product and service areas including: Margin Lending, Synthetic Financing, Securities Lending, Client Management, Client Onboarding, Risk, Client Analytics and Financial Resource Management
  • Thorough understanding of the critical success factors associated with a Prime Finance business, including risk management, legal framework, margin & pricing, financial resource optimisation, liquidity & funding, and platform/infrastructure capabilities
  • Senior level connectivity with top tier US Hedge Fund client base
  • Comprehensive understanding of the US market structure
  • The jobholder will be able to demonstrate the certifications and qualifications required to exercise the job mandate has been obtained
  • FINRA licenses: 7, 24, 63 and 79
