We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Head of Product and Execution Risk Oversight.

Role purpose
The role of Head of Product and Execution Risk Oversight directly supports the Head of Business Risk and Credit within AMH RBW. The purpose of the role is for the role holder to provide holistic first line oversight/challenge of AMH RBW Products and related Execution risks in particular the application of product and platform-related policies and controls especially the ones that WPS and Retail product teams have responsibility for:
- Ensuring the effective implementation and ongoing execution of best-in-class control standards within AMH RBW to drive sustainable business outcomes that align with and support the organization's growth strategy.
- Ensuring the application of policy requirements impacting products, including suitability standards, global fair value exchange, product governance, cross-border activities, and other securities restrictions such as cryptocurrencies, sustainability, sanctions, and more.
- Supporting and ensuring the rigorous execution of all change management activities to effectively address control gaps and design deficiencies such as One Wealth Platform and AI related activities
- Enforcing robust risk governance, in particular the Product Risk Oversight Committee and ensuring all WPS senior management have visibility of key risks and remediation activity
- Analyse lessons learned from post-trade Sales Quality testing and facilitate read across where needed.
Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders
- Identify and proactively manage current and emerging risks related to changes to services, products and systems across AMH RBW.
- Ensure processes and technology, are bringing rigor and consistency to controls testing across AMH RBW and addressing gaps in the completion of end-to-end business activities. This will be achieved by implementing and overseeing governance processes, intervening in RBW activities where necessary, and agreeing subsequent actions with key senior managers and functional colleagues.
- Enhance the control environment through the coordination of effective thematic risk reviews.
Requirements
Functional Knowledge
- Thorough understanding of the Group and AMH business and products.
- In-depth understanding of financial markets, including Investment, Insurance and Retail Credit products.
- Vision, capability and energy to devise and implement strategic initiatives.
- Strong business communication and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner with key stakeholders and senior management.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, adapting to changing priorities, working in a dynamic environment and getting things done.
- Proven track record of flexibility and resourcefulness in fluid environments of constantly evolving priorities, challenging bureaucracy and staying true to the values and strategy of the Group
Experience:
- Broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within one discipline
Business / Commercial knowledge:
- The role requires a comprehensive understanding of several value units / products /regulatory requirements / legal requirements, alongside an advanced understanding of the industry and the relative positioning of the HSBC's products and services.
