The opportunity: Head of Sales Global Trade Solutions, Ireland

We are seeking a Global Trade Solutions (GTS) Head of Sales to focus on our wholesale and Global Network Banking (GNB) clients and to lead the local sales and client manager team. The Head of Sales will drive and grow the Trade and Receivable Finance business of HSBC in the country to achieve the annual and medium-term operating plan targets.
What you will do:
The job holder must provide business leadership and direction, aligning with Group Strategy and developing HSBC into the leading provider of Trade and Receivables Finance business. The job holder also has overall responsibility for all trade and receivable finance activities, resources and succession planning to maximize the efficiency of Trade and Receivable Finance together with compliance with all relevant external regulations and internal guidelines to ensure that the Bank’s interests and reputation are protected.
In this role you will:
• Deliver booked revenue growth as per the Financial Resource Plan (FRP), along with managed revenue growth in line with GTS Europe targets, whilst ensuring robust profitability and returns.
• Maintain a high degree of sales intensity across the frontline team.
• Actively contribute to GTS sales and structuring discussions to elevate the level of client engagement and deliver bespoke, structured solutions (Receivables Finance, Supply Chain Finance) to clients
• Demonstrate flexibility and creative thinking when developing client solutions and solving for internal and external challenges.
• Ensure a high quality customer experience.
• Exhibit strong understanding of new revenue sources and contribute to the development of new GTS propositions.
• Ensure connectivity to the wider trade finance industry and adapt to regulatory and market infrastructure changes.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and that reputational risk impact is mitigated for GTS. Cultivate a consistent and appropriate selling culture.
• Act as a role model for GTS and the wider Europe team; ensure the team actively pursues training and development opportunities; support talent identification and succession planning.
You should apply if you have:
• Demonstrated ability to achieve revenue growth and sales targets through a client and solution-centric approach
• Detailed knowledge of the trade and working capital business and products.
• Broad corporate banking and relationship management experience
• Product management, business planning and financial management experience
• Highly developed leadership and management skills, with experience in team building and managing a wide range of projects.
• Highly developed communication and influencing skillst. Ability to work in a collaborative environment while making material progress with many stakeholders in a complex, matrixed, organizational structure.
• Ability to use strong judgement to identify and resolve problems.
• Working knowledge of end-to-end bank operations and information technology systems
• Awareness of global economic and political factors and their impact on GTS. Ability to anticipate trends and respond proactively where possible.
• Knowledge of the local Irish corporate market and regulators is desired.
