We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as an Head of Wholesale Operations - Short Term Assignment (STA).

Role Purpose:

To manage the corporate WSB operations team which services Global Banking and Commercial Banking covering, onboarding, periodic review, customer exits, account opening, account servicing, loan processing, credit limit control, security documentation, trade and credit information and regulatory report preparation with an several off-shore teams in GSC Hyderabad, GSC Colombo, GSC Bangalore, . 

Job holder is also responsible in managing the end-to-end handling of security loan documentation requirements, including preparation, safekeeping, and HUB maintenance ,  for all Wholesale Banking Clients

Principal Accountabilities:

Impact on the Business / Function
  • Lead the WSB Operations team for the Philippines to deliver an agreed set of business objectives 
  • Ensure the Business Service is able to meet service level requirements, whilst controlling cost and resource levels within agree budget 
  • Own key controls on behalf of our business partners, ensuring processes are executed in accordance to those controls 
  • Be accountable to the Regional Heads of Business Services for the service provided in the Philippines and discuss with the Regional Heads to review performance, identify common issues as well as represent the Business Service at the Philippines Business meetings 
  • Ensure management of resources to ensure performance levels or business service targets continually meet agreed standards 
  • Ensure that the Philippines meets operational risk targets, implementing audit points and continually adhere to Global Standards 
  • Partner with service providers (e.g. GSC and onshore Operational Services), driving continual improvement and driving the resolution of service issues 
  • Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring excellent customer experience, and increased adoption of Digital Client Onboarding
  • Ensure that periodic review and customer exits, continue to be within set KCIs and KRIs.
  • Oversees account maintenance, secondary account openings, client amendments, mandates processing, preparation of audit confirmation, and closures.
  • Loan Processing - Loan drawdowns, interest rate repricing and collection of principal and interest payments 
  • Control over facility utilization - Loading of credit limits in HUB, TREATS & HIE 
  • Credit Documentation - Issuance of Facility Offer Letters for Corporate Credit Accounts and checking of documents held as security by the Bank 
  • Trade and Credit Information - Handling of trade & credit information requests of RMs, HSBC Group members & other correspondent banks 
  • Report Preparation - Preparation of regular reports for FIN and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and adhoc reports for business use.

  • Corporate and Institutional Banking Clients - Ensure consistent service quality and high customer satisfaction 
  • Credit and Risk Management - Ensure effective controls and risk monitoring/mitigation

  • Team Culture - Develop a motivated and high performance team 
  • Training and Development - Multi-skilling and Cross-skilling of team with other SD Credit Services Functions 

Operational Effectiveness & Control
  • Control over loan drawdowns, interest rate repricing and collection of principal and interest payments 
  • Control over Credit Details loaded in HUB, HIE and TREATS 
Postulación
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in operations or in a directly related business/function including managing operational risk 
  • Experience of leading a team in a high pressured environment 
  • Strong delivery focus under aggressive timeframes 
  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently 
  • Excellent planning, organizing and commercial skills including strong financial management capability 
  • Ability to maintain composure and drive the correct outcomes under high risk scenarios 
  • Successfully complete all global mandatory training courses and post course assessments
