  • Regulatory Compliance Stewardship Support CoE team assists teams across regions and business lines with Governance and Reporting stewardship responsibilities along with key stewardship NFR tasks.
  • Team also supports Group Capabilities within the Regulatory Compliance function to set standards and infrastructure to assist stewardship of RC risks for the group.
  • This is a forward-looking role to support the reporting and governance requirements along with design and build of the Region and GBLs within the HSBC Regulatory Compliance function.

The Opportunity:

  • Ensure the Governance & Reporting CoE team successfully provides support services in a timely manner to the EMEA Governance & Reporting team in the region, ensure there is a clear understanding of compliance risk exposure with respect to clients, transactions and products in areas such as Governance; Reporting; MI reporting and commentary; Country/Regional Compliance project support where required; and support policy & advisory tasks where required.
  • Consolidating information from various HSBC systems (Helios, Qlicksense & Qlickview) and producing MI for senior risk management forums, including information on escalations, and agreed actions.
  • The role will involve working with stakeholders across Regulatory Compliance risk stewards (2LOD) in country, regional and Group roles to report findings on RC risks.
  • The role demands excellent Non-financial Risk Management knowledge, data analysis skills, leadership qualities, an inquisitive and investigative mind-set, good report writing and communication skills, as well as a good understanding of project management techniques.

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities

  • To support RC Risk Stewards by providing specialist assistance as required. Assist the EMEA Compliance Governance and Reporting team on all matters and the HBEU, HBCE and MENAT Governance and Reporting Teams where required.
  • To provide innovative and effective solutions based on SME knowledge that assist the Business / Functions.

Leadership and Teamwork 

  • Provide technical support by searching out best practice, monitoring technical and industry developments, sharing knowledge, and encouraging others to do the same in the best interests of HSBC and its customers.
  • Lead and encourage best practice across the COE team, constructive teamwork by demonstrating collaboration, and challenging actions and behaviors that are not consistent with HSBC’s diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers.

Specific responsibilities

  • Support development and implementation of globally consistent Risk Stewardship to provide actionable risk insights.
  • Consolidation and analysis of risk information to identify RC risk insights for senior stakeholders to action.
  • Delivery of products that support the risk stewardship model and promote an active risk management culture within compliance.
  • Implementation of tracking and oversight protocols to ensure action is taken, where required.
  • Supporting RC team with Monitoring and Oversight of various risk steward responsibilities.

Supporting responsibilities / capabilities

  • Providing input into the design of and implementing enhancements to risk framework components, managing the incorporation of Compliance requirements within the overall risk governance framework and strategy.
  • Working with Compliance MI and Project teams to oversee the design and implementation of a new technical solution to ensure data is available via a user-friendly front-end reporting tool.

Requisitos

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Risk Frameworks – Knowledge and understanding of Risk Management Framework and an understanding of the concepts supporting risk framework, the lines of defence, how they interact and how a risk profile is established, with key risks identified and appropriate controls mapped. Knowledge of how a risk profile can be challenged and remediation activities tracked.
  • Business Structure– Candidates should have an overall understanding of the different types business of HSBC and the types of products offered by each.
  • Analytical Skills – The candidates must be able to understand source data, compare information from across the three lines of defence and reach a conclusion, identifying anomalies and where further input required. This includes both strong verbal and numerical analysis, as successful applicants will have to use numerical comparison and close reading of rationales to reach suitable conclusions.
  • Business Process – Candidates should be proficient in MS office Suite (Excel, Word & PPT). Have the ability to consolidate information from multiple sources and draft a structured report. Prepare concise presentations and communicate findings clearly. Capable of taking accurate meeting minutes and summarizing key action points.  
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Candidates must feel confident engaging with stakeholders. Candidates must be able to build effective working relationships and provide robust challenge and feedback where necessary without compromising those relationships.
  • Report Writing – Candidates must be able to summarise large amounts of complex data into clear and comprehensive reports that can be readily understood by a senior audience. Candidates must be able to work to challenging deadlines to produce such reports.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Project management skills – A good understanding of project management techniques and experience in project delivery would be desirable, Successful delivery within a change / project environment.
  • As a highly motivated and dynamic self-starter, working collaboratively within teams, delivering on time and with a strong attention to detail.
