We're looking for someone with proven track record of owning and delivering complex Infrastructure delivery projects under demanding timelines. Our investment in data centres and other physical infrastructure in various regions presents many unique challenges. You are expected to understand how our infrastructure projects intersect with business, Software delivery teams and build awareness and capabilities in those areas. You are expected to build strong relationships across service line and with our internal partners in other service lines and central ITID teams . We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle database architecture, administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting & expert Automation skill. As an SME, you will provide technical leadership, guide best practices, and ensure the stability, scalability, and security of Oracle database environments
- Provide technical consultancy and take part in system administration, configuration, monitoring, and project delivery
- Prepare server related documentation, such as installation procedure, training guide & testing support•Control and manage change / release to ensure quality implementation
- Operate and maintain large estate of system environments to ensure security, availability, capacity planning and ever-greening
- Participate in incident / crisis support to provide speedy recovery of service and the subsequent root cause analysis and the implementation of improvement actions
- Implement system environment according to the project requirement and platform pattern offerings, including High Availability
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science & minimum 10 years exp as Oracle database along hands on Automation. Extensive hands-on experience Oracle/Oracle Golden Gate/OEM administration including installation, configuration and maintenance & Automation skills Ansible/Jenkins/Python/HashiCorpValut.
- Manage and maintain Oracle databases (versions 12c, 19c, and later) across production, development, and test environment, Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades, and patching (PSU/CPU).
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM. - Analyze and optimize database performance, including SQL query tuning, indexing strategies, and resource utilization, Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues using tools like AWR, ADDM, and OEM
- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, Ensure data integrity and availability through regular testing of backup and recovery procedures
- Implement database security policies, including user management, roles, and privileges, Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS).
- Develop and maintain scripts for database automation tasks, Leverage tools like Ansible or Shell scripting and YAML for operational efficiency along with Python
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Oracle/PostgreSQL database technologies, Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and other team members. Collaborate with application teams to design and implement database solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical database issues in a timely manner, participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for production environments.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures. Provide knowledge transfer and training sessions to team members.
The successful candidate will also meet the following requirements:
- Agile software development experience preferable Scrum
- Experience with web services and integration development
- Experience with other DevOps or automation tools
