We are seeking a strategic, execution-focused leader to serve as the AWS Platform Lead for the CTO organization, reporting to the Global Head of Cloud and Data Centre Services. The individual will be responsible for leading a global cross functional team of Support, Engineering, Architects, Service management and Product Managers.

As the AWS Platform Lead you will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing our cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and optimal performance. This role is critical to our digital transformation efforts and will require a deep understanding of cloud technologies, best practices, and a strong ability to lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers.

Job Requirements:

·       Team Leadership - Provide leadership for a technical platform team of Support, Engineering, Architects, Service management and Product Managers. Provide Expertise in Strategy, Business Planning, Governance, Risk Management and Stakeholder Management

·       Product Management - Ensure Cloud Service Provider and Platform products follow product management practices. Drive prioritisation of work coming into the team, balancing customer requirements and risk reduction priorities to form the strategic roadmap.

·       Workforce & Talent Management: Drive workforce strategy and talent development across a global team, ensuring effective resourcing, succession planning and career growth.  Manage platform budget and cost targets aligned to the wider workforce management strategy, in conjunction with business management.

·       Executive and Stakeholder Management - Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders including business, regional and CTO ExCo to understand and respond to their pain points and priorities.

·       Vendor Management - Act as Third Party Engagement Manager and manage relationships with cloud service providers and third-party vendors within the bank’s Third Party Management framework. Promote and drive vendor partnerships and collaborate with procurement on commercial management of Cloud Service Provider resources.

·       Engineering Leadership - Drive strong engineering practice excellence including engineering leadership. Support management of engineering delivery activities.

·       Cost Management - Drive cost optimisation through strong commercial discipline and FinOps practice, leveraging automation, reducing operational toil and increasing efficient use of Infrastructure.

·       IT Service Management - Accountable for SRE and smooth operation and effective service management including Incident, Change, Problem and Performance Management.

·       Risk Management - Own and establish risk management practices in alignment with HSBC Enterprise Risk Management framework.

·       Security - Implement and maintain robust security measures in the cloud environment, including data encryption, access control and compliance. Establish operating model aligned into the HSBC Cyber team to meet all control requirements.

·       Platform resilience - ensure the platform is secure, reliable, and highly available, meeting regulatory and operational resilience standards.  Proactively identify and mitigate risks, implement robust disaster recovery and continuity plans and maintain compliance with bank policies.

Requisitos

Qualification and Skills:

·       Proven industry experience of running a technical platform team of Support, Engineering, Architects, Service management and Product Managers, in a financial services organization or global enterprise level organisation. 

·       Expertise in Strategy, Business Planning, Governance, Risk Management, and Stakeholder Management·

·       Knowledge of technology and technology trends (Software Development, Agile, DevOps, SRE) and the ability to provide technology consultancy to senior business heads ·

·       Established industry relationships with Executives at large technology vendors.

·       Experience in planning and managing significant expenditure in a complex organization·

·       The role will be responsible for developing thought leadership and best practice, including engagement with vendors / third parties.

·       Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve their goals.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

·       Ability to analyse complex technical and business problems and develop effective solutions.

·       Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements related to cloud services.

This role is based in London.
