The Regulatory Reporting Manager will support the Head of Regulatory Reporting and the CFO in managing production of regulatory returns, ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements and internal policies related to the regulatory/statistical reporting area and acting as an SME for regulatory reporting and data related topics.
The role offers the opportunity to further knowledge and skills in regulatory reporting, capital management, data analytics and other finance and risk management areas through a hands-on approach and a close working relationship with subject matter experts within the different functions of the bank.
The main responsibilities are:
- Drive production of the regulatory returns within scope of the reporting to the MFSA/JST, statistical reports within scope of the reporting to the Central Bank of Malta, and other reports under Regulatory Reporting team’s responsibility
- Act as an SME for regulatory reporting and data related queries from internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal bank policies, proactively addressing regulatory changes and/or new requirements
- Lead Regulatory Reporting transformation initiatives, including automation of processes, enhancement of data quality, streamlining of interaction with internal and external stakeholders, aligning Regulatory Reporting agenda to the broader Finance priorities and business strategy
- Lead Regulatory Reporting contributions to governance forums, escalation papers, ad-hoc projects/initiatives and support to other Finance team’s deliverables
We are looking for candidates with:
- Background in Banking and Finance, Accountancy, Economics, or in a related subject
- Knowledge of banking regulations relating to regulatory reporting, capital and liquidity management, solid understanding of the major technical components of the bank balance sheet and their dynamics
- Data generation, analysis, and interpretation skills (SQL proficiency and knowledge of programming languages would be considered an asset)
- Strong analytical, organisational, problem-solving, and team-working skills with a mindset of continuous improvement and aiming for excellence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to explain complex issues in a clear way to multiple stakeholders, both internal and external
