International Subsidiary Banking (ISB) is the Division’s international proposition which aims to provide banking coverage to the subsidiaries of CMB customers within the Large Corporate and Mid - Corporate segments. The ISB strategy is to provide consistent, in-depth and dedicated coverage across the HSBC network with the end goal to deepen our relationship with our customers. The ISB business is a significant contributor of revenue to CMB and consists of a network of dedicated bankers across more than 50 countries worldwide managing over 35,000 subsidiary client relationships.

 

We are currently seeking an experienced and customer focused individual to join our team in the role of Relationship Director.

 

The ISB Relationship Director role is based within HSBC Commercial Banking UK. The ISB segment is core to Commercial Banking and this position is required to maximize the value of these relationships internationally by working closely with Global Relationship teams, group offices and product partners. The role holder is expected to manage a portfolio of subsidiaries of Corporate Relationships (LC & MME) with the support of the Relationship Support Analysts.

The tasks for this role will include some or all of the following: 

 

  • Focus on growing the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand a portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC's extensive network
  • Drive revenue growth through understanding customer needs and by adopting a needs-based approach which engages clients and increases new business.
  • Collaborate with Group colleagues to deliver appropriate needs-based solutions for customers.
  • Build a strong understanding of the client's business and industry to promote insights, enrich client conversations and deliver fair outcomes.
  • Deepen understanding of the client through pro-active credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews.
  • Confidently manage financial crime risk throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable operational risk HSBC Standards and policies, reporting any breaches in accordance with local procedures.

 

Requisitos

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Experience in managing complex commercial relationships with international needs
  • Robust commercial lending, risk assessment, trade finance experience, in-depth knowledge of deposit products and of the concept of cashflows.
  • Good level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues.
  • Experience in structuring complex credit deals for clients and close engagement with Global Banking and Markets products.
  • Good commercial lending, risk assessment, trade finance experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills.
  • Strong credit assessment skills, particularly with regard to more complex and structured facilities with an international dimension.
  • Proven ability to deliver creative and flexible customer solutions.

 

This is a hybrid role that can be based in Bristol or Reading.  The successful applicant will support a portfolio of clients that will be based throughout the South of the UK, so the ability to travel on a frequent basis in this region is essential.
