It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management and analysis.
- The team based out of multiple locations across the GSCs (India/China/Mexico/Poland) providing analytics, data & insight support to various CIB D&A, CMB/ GB portfolios. Team’s focus is on using logical thought process and relevant statistical techniques and right tools & techniques & productize scaled solutions to analyse product portfolio metrics and risk behaviour to arrive at value-based optimum decisions

- Delivering value to the business requires access to a range of specialised Data & Analytics skills in locations across the globe. In delivering against a complex and evolving book of work the CIB D&A team need to have access to, maintain and develop the best talent in a highly competitive jobs market.
- CIB D&A is looking for Business Analysts that will work on the end-to-end flow of a broad range of analytics use cases, to deliver real business value. From engaging with business stakeholders and understanding the problem, assisting data analysts and engineers in acquiring and processing the data, building and testing the appropriate model, to overseeing the deployment into production. We need people with experience of the full range of business analysis skills, from supporting the development of business cases, gathering requirements, documenting solution designs and testing.
Governance and Committee Memberships (membership of ExCos, Risk Management Meeting)
- This change-the-bank (CTB) role requires a strong self-starter with strong change delivery skills who enjoys the challenge of delivering change within tight deadlines
- Structured and organised analyst with strong data and business analysis skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A good understanding of the control requirement surrounding data handling will be advantageous in this role
- Assess the operational risks as part of the analysis and implementation planning and execution in conjunction with delivery managers
- Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
What you’ll do:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Responsible for requirements gathering, documentation of solution design, documenting and executing test scenarios and performing a variety of change and implementation management activities.
- May work across multiple projects and programmes simultaneously
- May be required to support change management activities spanning from early change planning and audience analysis; through to designing and delivering change interventions (e.g., communications, training, support, organisation alignment); and tracking.
- Taking actions on change readiness, adoption, and feedback. They are also ultimately responsible for Implementation Management, including planning, controlling, and reporting on implementation of the change ‘product’, focusing on accelerating benefits and minimising risk during deployment. Implementation activities will also include managing implementation readiness and managing the early stages of implementation (e.g. pilot).
- Internal clients to facilitate effective data analysis/migration and process change and ensure expectations are effectively manage.
- A good understanding of the control requirement surrounding data handling will be advantageous in this role
- Assess the operational risks as part of the analysis and implementation planning and execution in conjunction with delivery managers
- Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices, report concerns or observations in terms of control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational risk impact.
- Ensure all due diligence is performed to prevent adverse impact to customers and business operations
- Support documentation of risks, issues and dependencies in the RAID log for allocated projects, and ensure that these are fed into the programme effectively

What you will need to succeed in the role:
Functional Knowledge
- Strong Business Analyst with Financial Services experience
- Knowledge of data quality and data remediation is desirable.
- Strong excel and PowerPoint skills is essential.
- Natural problem solver, with ability to think strategically and look for solutions where there is no obvious answer.
- Endorse team engagement initiatives, fostering an environment which encourages learning and collaboration to build a sense of community.

- Solid working experience in data & analytics field with demonstration of understanding in technology trends, methodologies, and tools for data & analytics
- Understand and able to apply project management principles and portfolio management
- Communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders, team management and conflict management skills
- Experienced in presenting to senior stakeholder in both business and technology
- Experienced on agile projects and understand the application of agile

- Content heavy role – Senior Business Analysts must demonstrate strong business knowledge and sound business sense, and stay abreast of the industry, business-wise and technology-wise.
- Stakeholder complexity – Senior Business Analysts will often need gather requirements and agree designs across stakeholders, dealing with different interests and resolving disagreements and conflicts, and sometimes needing to challenge poor requirements and design decisions. They will often attend and lead these meetings or workshops with no supervision.
- Understanding complex change or remediation activities
- Multi-disciplinary – Senior Business Analysts need to be able to shape business requirements and solution designs that encompass all aspects of the delivery (customer, people, process, policy, technology - system, data, infrastructure, etc). Senior Business Analysts may be required to work across multiple projects at the same time.
