Global Analytics Center (GAC):
- A mature analytics capability, the Global Analytics Center (GAC), is a hub of advanced analytics competency, providing high-end analytics services across global businesses and global functions. Set-up in India in 2004, GAC has matured into a shared Centre of Excellence comprising 2000+ professionals with offices in Bangalore, Kolkata, Guangzhou and Krakow. The work done in GAC forms a vital input towards strategic planning by the senior management for businesses and enables effective decision making along with addressing unforeseen challenges.
- GAC is an innovative community leveraging the best of data and analytics capabilities to enable smarter decisions and drive profitable growth. Rightly positioned in the two major intellectual hubs of India, Poland and China, it attracts a rich mix of resources across business consulting, data analysts, decisions scientists and advance analytics professionals. Being in these locations also enables HSBC to leverage talent from the rich academic and start-up ecosystem to keep up to date with the latest in the industry.
- Today, the GAC team generates value across the group through a wide variety of data and analytic solutions and related business consulting. GAC has become a one-stop shop for the group’s analytic needs leading the integration of analytics and data-driven decisions not only in traditional areas such as Risk , Retail, Wholesale, Private & Commercial Banking but also in new domains such as Regulatory, Operations, Procurement, Human Resources, and Financial Crime Risk. It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management.
- There are primarily four job families in GAC: Decision Sciences, Information Management, Business Consulting and MI Reporting. This role applies to the Information Management job family within the Analytics function supporting various businesses and functions.
Global Business/Global Function (Ex: WPB, CMB, GRA etc.):
- Wealth and Personal Banking is our new global business combining Retail Banking and Wealth Management; and Global Private Banking, to become one of the world’s largest global wealth managers with USD1.4 trillion in assets. Our dedicated colleagues serve millions of customers worldwide across the entire spectrum of private wealth, ranging from personal banking for individuals and families, through to business owners, investors and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. - WPB business team will leverage richer analytics-driven insights to enable a more personalized approach to targeting and engaging with consumers. From location-based offers to improved service delivery, WPB business will use spending patterns, product use, and channel interactions to enable improved experience-driven banking. WPB business to provide employees with contextual data for smarter consumer engagement and provide management with robust analytics (customer interaction, attrition, loyalty, cost analysis and transactional and behavioral analysis) for ongoing decision-making and also for mitigating regulatory risk. WPB analytics team provide support 30+ markets globally
Global Business/Global Function - Sub-Function (WPB –D & MI , CCS, DDS…) :
- Under the Digital First strategy, WPB UK is moving from a data-rich to data-driven organization; the Data and Analytics department are central to this transformation. The department delivers data analytics, machine learning (ML) and management information which are used to measure, automate and improve the performance of the business. The department is at the center of customer intelligence and marketing; using ML to communicate the right message, to the right customer, at the right time. In addition, the department is using ML to automate processes and deliver efficiencies in banking operations.
What you’ll do:
The Messaging Operations Analyst is responsible for the data selection & build of 1:1 multi-channel/multi-step customer communications covering, mandatory (i.e. PSD2 comms, NoV, etc.), Service (branch closures, internet outage, etc.), Marketing (newsletters, Loan acquisition etc.). The communication to the customer covers, email, paper mail, outbound calling, internet banking prompts, Statement Inserts and messaging, Incentive payments etc.
Key responsibilities are:
- Understand and translate business requirements into 1:1 multi-channel / multi-step customer communications.
- Recommend and implement campaign enhancements to improve the customer journey: efficiencies in deliveries, system functionality and data availability.
- Build selection rules to deliver dynamic campaigns via Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Support Chapter innovation projects
- Work within an Agile squad to deliver business requirements, with a clear focus on continuous development - share knowledge/best practice with the rest of the team and provide peer to peer feedback, quality checks and support.
- Proactively identify risk associated with customer data and campaign selection, ensuring the delivery processes are followed and the risk controls are completed 100% of the time. Take ownership of issues and ensure the appropriate course of action is taken.
- Working with the squad input into backlog discussions to prioritise workload against business objectives, adapt to change and identify and solve problems to allow the team to succeed.

Eligibility Criteria
- Working knowlegde of Agile methodologies / working as part of an Agile team .
- Knowledge of setting up complex dynamic personalized campaign using advanced platform features to set up multi-step campaigns.
- Ability to work on own but also as part of a larger team to achieve a common goal/objective. Actively engages with others to gain different perspectives and knowledge.
- Problem solving skills and resolution management.
- Advanced technical skill on digital messaging platform like salesforce marketing cloud / peoplecloud messaging / adobe campaign
- Advanced technical skils on enterprise campaign data platforms like UNICA, Oracle, Pega etc along with SQL skills
Soft Skills requirements
- Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and drive for success.
- Maintain the level of communication/interaction across the team and direct manager including onshore business partners.
- Strong analytical skills with business analysis aptitude. Knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations is advantageous.
