The Opportunity:

Key purpose of the role:

Responsible for working in partnership with the Business to set strategy and engaging with stakeholders across the Global Business, Functions and Global COO communities to translate this into effective global execution and implementation plans. The role includes the following key responsibilities:

What you’ll do:

• Ensure focus on strategic delivery for Global Markets Business and manage the delivery of regional and global strategy
• Support the delivery of commercial goals and objectives at regional and global level
• Ensure that strong working relationships are developed and maintained with all other Business Support and functional teams
• Support the business line management in day to day operational and administrative management of the business
• Support the business line management in the resolution of operational issue
• Support the business Line management in the adoption of policies/guidelines, and in the adherence to conduct and control best practices
• Support the business line management in the proposition and internal adoption of new business initiatives

Management of Risk (Operational Risk/FIM requirements)

• The jobholder will ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organization
• This will be achieved by consistently displaying the behaviors that form part of the HSBC Values and culture and adhering to HSBC risk policies and procedures, including notification and escalation of any concerns and taking required action in relation to points raised by audit and/or external regulators
• The jobholder is responsible for managing and mitigating operational and conduct risks in their day to day operations. In executing these responsibilities, the Group has adopted risk management and internal control structures referred to as the 'Three Lines of Defense'. The job holder should understand their position within Three Lines of Defense and operate within operational risk policy, escalating in a timely manner where they are unsure

Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy/FIM requirements)

• The jobholder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators

Conduct

• In executing these responsibilities, the job holder will be leading by example and embed a culture that demonstrates conduct values and behaviors in their day to day activities.
