Wholesale Technology provides technology solutions to support HSBC’s four global businesses: Commercial Banking, Global Banking and Markets, Global Private Banking, and Retail Banking and Wealth Management. Wholesale Technology is part of Digital Business Services (previously called HOST). Wholesale Technology Digital faces off to Commercial Banking.

Wholesale Technology Digital is a major Service Line reporting into Wholesale Technology, but servicing the Commercial Bank. Digital (sometimes called Wholesale Technology IT) is the electronic front door for HSBC’s commercial customers, and the Digital team is responsible for developing, building, and improving on the digital banking platforms that our customers use. Large commercial and global banking customers use HSBCnet and Connect to transact, while small to medium-sized commercial customers use Digital Banking platforms (DBB) and emerging solutions such as Kinetic and Quantum.

WSIT is reengineering how it interacts with its customers with technology at the heart of this transformation. We will replace all the major platforms to compete with the industry best, and tech giants, utilizing the latest cutting edge technology and solutions, including Cloud, API, Data Analytics, and best of breed transaction banking services.

The Opportunity:  
As a member of API platform, you'll help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations problems. In this environment, you’ll take the lead on relevant projects, supported by an organization that provides the support and mentorship you need to learn and grow. 

What you’ll do:
- Lead the delivery of IT program to support business ambition
- Analysis, Design, develop and implement IT solutions to meet business requirements
- Conduct system test, user acceptance test and provide support on system implementation and product commercialization
- Ensure a high quality standard of deliverables according to HSBC standards and best practices
- Prepare project related documentation and ensure compliance and audit policies strictly followed
- Reduce technical risk / debt in solution proposal, system design and implementation
- Provide technical and domain consultancy and support in CIB GPS channel
- Provide in-depth knowledge transfer and on-job training / guidance to improve team productivity
- Work closely with global and regional stakeholders on projects delivery
- Maintain effective and good relationship between the business and the IT Project team, managing appropriate business expectations and negotiating compromise where appropriate
- This role will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple related projects within a strategic programme. This role ensures alignment with organizational goals, manages risks, coordinates stakeholders, and drives successful outcomes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills to ensure programme success
- Define programme scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with business goals; Develop detailed programme plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including senior leadership, project teams, and external partners
- Facilitate collaboration across departments to ensure seamless execution; Communicate programme status, risks, and key decisions to stakeholders
- Oversee interdependencies between projects within the programme; Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that may impact programme delivery User Guide
