Our GCIO organisation plays a critical role for the bank. This team partners with our businesses to build the platforms, systems, and products that our customers use every day. We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Lead Solution Architect.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will

  • Proficient in crafting clear and concise solution proposals and facilitating agreements among diverse stakeholders. This includes engaging with senior stakeholders across various disciplines such as business analysts, product owners, testing teams, and technical experts
  • Extensive experience in defining workable technology solutions by collaborating with different technology teams (internal and external), providing a holistic view across multiple options that align with different stakeholders’ needs
  • Expertise in defining strategies for enterprise-level foundational platforms, targeting the desired state of the organization. This involves understanding current technological landscapes and anticipating future trends
  • Have strong understanding of how the insurance business operates in multiple distribution models, i.e. bancassurance, agency, broker and 3rd partnership, as considerations will need to consider these models outside of just HSBC bank
  • Provide architectural leadership for services and solutions within Insurance service domains, leveraging business domain experience in Insurance and other financial services products. Ability to define an aligned vision, balancing long-term strategic objectives with immediate business needs whilst delivering incremental value to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the broader HSBC organization to drive Insurance priorities for solutions, leveraging resources from the wider HSBC Group. Develop and maintain architecture and technology roadmaps for capabilities across the Hong Kong market, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and providing a clear path for future development
  • Design scalable, secure, and resilient solutions/platforms utilizing modern technology stacks, with good understanding of how technology evolves around the industry (e.g. InsurTech and the use of AI in insurance use cases)
  • Provide detailed design guidance to engineering teams, ensuring technical designs meet business capabilities and service resilience requirements. Ability to comprehend and articulate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders and senior engineers, translating technical jargon into actionable insights. Accountable for the solution from inception, ideation to implementation, which include making sensible change to solutions, and ensuring solution can be maintained, evolved and run efficiently even after go-live
Requisitos

To be successful you will need

  • Possess sound knowledge of artificial intelligence, including its applications and potential impact on business operations
  • Experienced in enterprise environments, with a comprehensive understanding of traditional and modern processes and procedures, and their impact on digital transformation, and within an Insurance company.
  • In-depth functional and non-functional knowledge of cloud platforms and native services, specifically AWS or GCP, designing architectures that leverage their strengths
  • Understanding of modern development practices, tooling, integration, technology, patterns, and practices to design, build, and continuously improve automated software delivery factories
  • Experienced in leveraging a modern SDLC toolchain including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated configuration, and provisioning at scale
  • Familiar with microservice architectures and possess in-depth knowledge of container-based services like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Competent in modern technology stacks across front-end and back-end, capable of reviewing engineering outputs and contributing to the enhancement of engineering standards
