Role Purpose

 

·       The job holder is responsible for developing and driving key initiatives and partnering with GNB and HBCN CIB stakeholders to deliver the power of HSBC’s international network to our customers. As a Senior Manager you will be responsible for relationships with external stakeholders, including local and foreign governments, trade bodies and commercial chambers focusing on identifying and capturing key ODI flow opportunities.

 

·       The role holder will be responsible for elevating and marketing the profile of the China Outbound business and plays a critical role in the overall management and success of HSBC’s dedicated network of China Desk Managers (“CDMs”) delivering a world class proposition to our customers.

·       The role holder will be responsible for elevating and marketing the profile of the China Outbound business.

 

·       The job holder is expected to play a supporting role in the overall management and success of HSBC’s dedicated network of China Desk Managers (“CDMs”) to deliver a world class proposition to our customers. They are also expected to support with the upskilling, train and develop HBCN CIB Coverage Bankers with regards familiarization with our international network, sound understanding of GNB processes, procedures and cross border credit.The job holder will be expected support on points of escalation with regards international/Outbound issues, work on initiatives and projects as well as be responsible for the effective communication, delivery and successful implementation on any new products & processes from HSBC Group affecting Outbound for HBCN.

 

 

Job Duties

 

·       Drive and coordinate the initiatives formulation, drive actions and track the deliverables.

·       Support the in-country execution of the Group’s Outbound and BRI strategy to drive revenue and achieve the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets.

·       Formulate/review customer account strategies and liaise with Clusters/Branches assigning prospects and opportunities to HBCN Coverage Bankers / GNB RMs.

·       Develop metrics and reporting mechanisms that monitor execution of the Outbound and BRI strategy.

·       Interpret and communicate any global GNB and regulatory developments, and ensure timely training and familiarization for frontline teams is delivered.

·       Lead tactical projects to ensure that market firsts are attained for key products and market trends.

·       Devise strategy to raise Outbound and international awareness/knowledge for front-line colleagues.

·       Build relationships with government officials, trade bodies, commercial chambers and regulators in China. Focus on capturing ODI opportunities.

·       Participate in meetings with major/high level Outbound clients and prospects, in order to provide guidance, pitch for new business, resolve any issues, and facilitate smooth operations and services, thus building loyalty and client satisfaction.

·       Establish the agenda for internal education (e.g. workshops and seminars) and external marketing (client forums and summits).

·       Deepen customer relationships through championing business co-operation with key stakeholders including Global Business, Global Products and Global Functions, to contribute to Outbound and BRI strategy.

·       Provide ‘thought leadership’ on Outbound and BRI matters to key internal stakeholders and serve as a subject matter expertise on international.

·       Organize and deliver workshops, forums, seminars, roadshows and presentations.

·       Work with in-country stakeholders where required to remove any blockages for transactions and act as a point of senior escalation to resolve matters in a timely and efficient manner.

·       Work closely with Global Businesses, Global Products and Global Functions to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the China Outbound proposition.

·       Build network with Group offices (including global CIB, GNB and China Desks) to enhance profile and cooperation with China.

·       Support the management of the CDM proposition/governance and conduct periodical review on CDM structure to align with China CIB and GNB management. Provide feedback to GNB teams on CDM performance, and provide support on people management matters, e.g. resourcing new CDMs.  

·       Continually assess operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology.

Requisitos

·       Minimum of eight years proven and progressive business development, sales management, and credit experience or equivalent.

·       Adaptability and global mobility - the role requires the jobholder to work abroad.

·       People management experience, including managing team managers.

·       Extensive knowledge and proven sales success with the Bank’s products and services, or equivalent

·       Good understanding and knowledge of GNB and experience with working with multinational corporates.

·       Experience working with senior stakeholders in a global environment.

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills including organisational, analytical, negotiation, communication, teamwork and influencing skills.

·       Ability to set and manage own agenda, while ensuring alignment with stakeholder priorities.

·       Excellent spoken and written Mandarin and English.

·       Understanding of local operating markets and their corresponding span(s) of control within assigned region.

Experience of driving strategic change in a matrix environment.
