Support the function in providing a high quality trustee and depositary monitoring service to ensure that clients comply with the relevant IGSA / PLA / operational procedures in accordance with the Trustee and Fiduciary Services administrative task responsibilities. Maintain excellent relationships with On Shore jurisdictions, communicating with them in a professional, clear and concise manner. Meeting all deadlines while maintain quality and productivity at the optimum level in delivering the fiduciary administrative tasks.

What you’ll do:

Impact on the Business/Function  

  • To support rollout of new products/ activities associated with the fiduciary administrative tasks. Engage and drive efficiencies and business solutions through automation/BPR and be an agent of change. Assist and participate in the deployment of defined business solutions to remove manual processes.
  • Active participation and support of migration / re-migration of funds.
  • Support department initiatives, regulatory, compliance and reduce risk.
  • Formulate and implement robust control mechanism to eliminate risk (if any)

Customers / Stakeholders  

  • High quality review and timely delivery of the fiduciary administrative tasks and monitoring of deliverables of upstream teams with regard to accuracy of exceptions that are reported.
  • Perform maker activities as and when required.
  • Raising the exceptions with appropriate teams to ensure the clearance of exceptions in a timely manner as agreed with each jurisdiction.
  • Act as the primary contact for Business Partners in relation to any query related exceptions raised by the On Shore sites and also act as a backup for the Manager in his absence and manage operations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers & business partners through timely communication and BAU Calls.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • To maintain HSBC internal control standards and support internal/external reviews including the timely implementation of audit points.
  • Updating all MIS/trackers as required by the process.
  • Complete all Mandatory trainings as and when required and IOC for captured roles.
  • Ensure timely follow up on the open & outstanding issues. Ensure, Escalation Matrix is followed as per agreed for both BP & SSO Kolkata.
  • Undertake a program of the fiduciary administrative tasks, as assigned, in accordance with all relevant internal, legal, Bank and Group Compliance Policies and procedures. Resolve complex enquiries and queries on time and in accordance with current guidelines.
  • Assist in the review of procedures.
  • Provide assistance to the AVP in line with senior administrator role. Assistance includes but is not limited to:
  • Assist with the flow of work within the team.
  • Carry out checking of colleague’s work.
  • Act as a point of reference for training purposes.

Leadership & Teamwork  

  • Contribute towards building an enthusiastic and motivated team and demonstrate HSBC Group Values and principles.
  • Ensure continuous process related updates are cascaded to the fund administrators on an on-going basis.
  • Undertake/conduct trainings/cross training for all staff including existing and new staffs and monitor the same in an ongoing basis.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities that may be required by the Supervisor in support of the on-going management and development of the division. Perform UAT testing as and when required.
  • Being proactive in identifying root cause for process related challenges and share qualitative resolution including being responsible for improving the team’s overall quality, productivity and communication.
  • Be flexible to adopt in different working environment with counter parts across the globe.
Requisitos

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree in commerce
  • 3-5 years of relevant Funds administration experience. (For L7)
  • Complete understanding of Trade Life Cycle
  • Excellent knowledge of Capital Markets and Financial instruments.
  • Excellent knowledge in accounting principles and fundamentals of Accounting.
  • Excellent knowledge in NAV Calculation process with clear understanding of the E2E Fund Accounting Model.
  • Proven working knowledge in IMS, Multifonds, ICON, Bloomberg, etc.
  • Ability to update, manage and analyze MI related activities.
  • Basic knowledge in custody, brokerage, depository, investment accounting, mutual funds and reconciliations.
  • Possess good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in EXCEL essential.
  • Ability to speak and understand English
  • Excellent interpersonal and team work skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to re-prioritize workloads due to changing circumstances; meet strict deadlines.
  • Will be expected to maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Must be aware of the operational risk scenarios associated with this role and act upon pertinent risk (if any).
