• Wholesale Technology Global Payments Solutions (GPS), as a major Service Line reporting into Wholesale Technology, faces off to Commercial Banking, Global Banking and Markets and Retail Banking and Wealth Management. GPS is the backbone of transaction banking, as HSBC group strategy payment regional system, Regional Payment is a multi-currency payments platform enabling customers to submit regional high value (international and priority) payments, and low value (bulk or single) payments in different currencies.

The Opportunity:

• We are currently seeking an experienced professional to take on the role of Senior Software Engineer within the Wholesale IT Global Payments Solutions, which is responsible for delivering global payment systems for the Bank in ASP and EMEA region.

What you’ll do:

• Organize AP/EMEA Project accordance with the mission and goals of Payments IT.
• Manage the project approach and build stakeholder buy in around the project plan, commitments and changes.
• Support a team with a global array of talents and responsibilities to manage delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, resourcing, dependencies, communications, and budget.
• Manage, monitor and report progress, issues, dependencies, risks to the global program management, internal stakeholders and steering committees. Make recommendations to influence decision making to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realization.
• Enforce process discipline and improvements in areas of expertise, such as, disciplined agile software delivery, production support processes, and continuous DevOps pipeline development.
• Drive the development and help running of the program management office or project management practice.
• Ensure adherence to standard controls and drive teams to achieve compliance and framework, capability management, risk management, security controls and technology architecture design.
• Establish effective governance and control, in line with Business Transformation Framework and coordination of cross technology teams across Global Business and Global Function delivery.
• Work with the IT teams and Product Owner to drive improvements in productivity through backlog management, maturity in the use of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban and Lean, and corresponding management of dependencies.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years+ on IT Project/Development/DevOps working experience.
• In depth understanding on Java/Python development, SQL, Oracle, Redis/Hazelcast distributed cache system, Linux.
• In depth understanding on CICD, Jenkins, Git, Jira/Confluence, Kubernetes, Docker/VM, Kafka (Distributed Message Queue).
• Be proficient in Linux command, Shell scripting, security protocol, Apache Gateway, TCP/IP network protocol, runtime Server Configurations, SSL Certificate setup and automation via SonarIQ, Nexus.
• Knowledge of micro-services design and development, good understanding of spring core, spring boot and spring cloud framework.
• Experienced at RESTful API design and development, idempotency, and data fault tolerance.
• Experience with monitoring/troubleshooting skills and familiar with App Dynamic, Splunk, Ansible and Grafana.
• Understand basic front-end technology like HTML, CSS, Java script.
• Knowledge of testing frameworks including JMeter and cucumber.
• Proven experience in project management in an international financial institution.
• Proven experience in working with a global dispersed team.
• Good communication skills and an ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Proven troubleshoot ability for testing support, production support.

What additional skills will be good to have?

• Payments knowledge would be an advantage.
• Knowledge in project management area will be the advantage.
• Knowledge in cloud native related experienced, especially in GCP.
