We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Vice President.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
Maximize revenue and customer value by being accountable for proactively growing a portfolio within GNB through new-to-bank acquisition, deepening product penetration for existing customers and driving balance sheet growth across assets and liabilities aligned to the Group’s strategy of growing revenues and portfolio Return on Equity through needs-based sales
Lead and Drive corridor engagement with key Global Corporate and International Mid-Market Coverage, Product and functional stakeholder groups to maximize customer value with a focus on expanding transaction banking wallet share and facilitating introductions to the wider HSBC Group to capture business opportunities in other markets
Ability to engage C-suite level management of the bank’s largest clients with diverse solutions to meet complex needs, introduce new opportunities and develop a trusted advisor status with key client decision makers in order to grow long-term relationships
Understand current economic trends and their impact on HSBC in Hong Kong; identify key levers to capitalize on opportunities and/or minimize downside exposure
Contribute to the long-term strategic vision and direction for HK GNB and identify the key steps necessary for portfolio alignment and acting as a Role Model championing client centricity through regular client engagement and dealing with complaints and issues as required
Uphold the highest level of integrity and act as a role model for all HSBC values and business principles, ensuring growth is achieved within the bank’s risk appetite and that HSBC delivers appropriate products and services which meet and exceed customer expectations as well as deliver fair outcomes
Be an ambassador for HSBC and develop the bank’s profile in the local community, with a particular focus on international business (including engagement through Chambers of Commerce)
- Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external standards that apply to the conduct of the business including but not limited to KYC, AML regulations and monitoring of credit risks, including taking timely actions to protect the bank from potential losses
To be successful you will need
Multiple years of experience in banking and track record dealing with international / corporate clients
Strong banking experience with exposure to corporate lending, credit structures, risk assessment, cash and payment solutions and trade finance. Banking Experience in/across other geographies is a plus
A passionate client advocate with deep understanding of corporate and institutional client needs, with a demonstrable track record in delivering customer excellence on a global basis for CIB category clients
Good level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues with strong credit assessment skills, particularly towards structured facilities
Strategic thinker with a track record in developing and implementing market leading strategies that originate business and deliver effective client solutions across Transaction Banking products
Ability to interact and build trust and credibility with relationships at all levels of seniority including internal and external stakeholders, ‘C suite’, owner/proprietor client representatives, regulators and government bodies. Ability to influence without direct control
Cross cultural sensitivity and a dynamic personality to constructively engage with multicultural stakeholders (both internal and external).
Fluent in English and fluent in an additional major foreign language would be a plus
