We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of a Sr. Associate Director, Delivery Management Specialist

Department: - Finance and Traded Risk Tech, CIB HBEU Technology

FDR IT is part of MSS IT function. FDR IT department serves the Finance, Regulatory and Product Control business functions across the organisation. It is a global organisation with IT team spread across London, HK, NY, GZ and Pune being the technology centre. 
FDR IT (Finance and Data Regulatory Reporting) department is responsible for building and maintaining IT systems which are responsible for delivering cross asset functionality. FDR IT team works closely with Front Office and Regulatory business functions across the organization.

In this role, you will:

  • Be part of the Data Operations technology leadership team.
  • Provide technical and people leadership to one or more delivery PODs. 
  • Work in partnership with Business stakeholders, Product Owners and cross functional engineering teams globally to deliver engineering initiatives and department objectives through continuous delivery of value & improvement of products, business services and platforms.
  • Ensure that we define and deliver against target architecture goals that meet the overall business requirements as well as creating a standard architecture for all trusted data sources in MSS.
  • Champions agile ways of working with empathy for continuous delivery, DevSecOps and business value – must be able to promote small, incremental, low-risk and high cadence change into production.
  • Build a diverse and inclusive team which is focused on creating and operating in a psychologically safe environment.
  • Empowers the team, has clear vision and strategy for the team and helps with career development of team.
  • Identify and deliver common engineering solutions to maintain standards and reduce costs.
  • Influence team culture to promote innovation, collaboration, branding, ideation and value creation

Requisitos

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experienced in owning a platform and the set of responsibilities associated with it.
  • Comes from technology or engineering background with an understanding of Technology Delivery Lifecycle, engineering practices, underlying infrastructure, tooling, architecture & design principles.
  • Ability to build teams with the right mix of skills and expertise to deliver projects and solutions.
  • Ability to break down a Programme of work into manageable deliveries and drive execution in-line with Programme objectives.
  • Able to closely work with developers and analysts of his / her engineering teams in understanding the technical challenges and suggest solutions and way forward.
  • Takes ownership and personal accountability of the decisions and actions.
  • Able to pro-actively challenge and escalate issues/ bad decisions/ actions.
  • Able to build trusted relationships with the engineering teams, architects, business and lead engineers of other sub-asset classes and has a good appreciation of the business domain they work in.
    Ability to communicate with senior leadership team with clear articulation of items requiring their intervention. 
  • Experience working on vision and strategy building. 
  • Ability to lead or provide ideas as part of Special Interest Groups for recommending/driving continuous improvements in ways of working, DevSecOps , innovation/transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Mentoring:
    • Manage and mentor a team of software engineers (15-20 members)
    • Conduct regular 1:1, performance reviews, and career planning.
    • Foster a high-performance, agile, and collaborative team culture.
  • Project &Technical Delivery:
    • Own technical delivery of projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and stakeholders expectations are met.
    • Oversee system design, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
    • Work closely with Product Managers and Architects to align  technical solutions with business goals.
  • Architecture & Design Oversight:
    • Participate in architectural decisions and provide guidance on scalable design.
    • Ensure adoption of industry-standard design principles (e.g Microservices, CI/CD, containerization, RESTful APIs).
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Interface with cross-functional teams, including QA, DevOps, Security and Business SMEs.
    • Present status updates, risks, and improvement plans to leaderships.
  • Process & Quality Assurance:
    • Drive engineering processes including Agile/Scrum, code quality, unit testing, and documentation.
    • Identify automation opportunities to improve productivity and reduce manual efforts
