Global Analytics Center (GAC):
A mature analytics capability, the Global Analytics Center (GAC), is a hub of advanced analytics competency, providing high-end analytics services across global businesses and global functions. Set-up in India in 2004, GAC has matured into a shared Centre of Excellence comprising 2000+ professionals with offices in Bangalore, Kolkata, Vizag, Guangzhou and Krakow. Today, the GAC team generates value across the group through a wide variety of data and analytic solutions and related business consulting. GAC has become a one-stop shop for the group’s analytic needs leading the integration of analytics and data-driven decisions not only in traditional areas such as Risk , Retail, Wholesale, Private & Commercial Banking but also in new domains such as Regulatory, Operations, Procurement, Human Resources, and Financial Crime Risk. It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management
Global Business/Global Function (Ex: WPB, CMB, GRA etc.):
Wealth and Personal Banking is our new global business combining Retail Banking and Wealth Management; and Global Private Banking, to become one of the world’s largest global wealth managers with USD1.4 trillion in assets. Our dedicated colleagues serve millions of customers worldwide across the entire spectrum of private wealth, ranging from personal banking for individuals and families, through to business owners, investors and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. WPB business team will leverage richer analytics-driven insights to enable a more personalized approach to targeting and engaging with consumers. From location-based offers to improved service delivery, WPB business will use spending patterns, product use, and channel interactions to enable improved experience-driven banking. WPB business to provide employees with contextual data for smarter consumer engagement and provide management with robust analytics (customer interaction, attrition, loyalty, cost analysis and transactional and behavioral analysis) for ongoing decision-making and also for mitigating regulatory risk. WPB analytics team provide support 30+ markets globally
What you’ll do:
Lead Data and Intelligence HUB for Middle East, Expat and other Continental Europe Markets
Work closely with IT to deliver data enablement in Intelligence HUB.
Increase ADS data coverage in intelligence HUB and establish ADS as the strategic data hub for analytics and reporting
Operate as a requirement owner, work with IT to deliver practices related to data governance, data quality and lineage.
Actively drive integration of new data sources to Google Cloud ensuring data is strategically connected to Analytics consumption layer in GCP
Actively drive reduction of SAS dependence for markets having funding for GCP
Operate as accountable lead for regulatory data and reporting, ensuring right level of controls.
Create domain specific data SMEs in the team covering expertise on source system, CDL and Analytics data layer.
Communicate deliverables of the team verbally and in written communications.
Ensure proper skill mix, team structure and resources are in place to support the Data agenda whilst catering for both skills and career development.
Develop and enhance the functional knowledge and technical capability of the team by providing effective coaching and on-job training.
Continuously review key risks and proactively institute controls in place to address the same.
The role holder shall also be expected to guide and lead team members from a functional perspective and help them build up a strong business understanding. ( Only People Manager role )
Management of Risk/Internal Controls/Compliance:
The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Post Graduate master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in engineering / quantitative Discipline.
At least 12 + years of experience in Data and Analytics.
Deep experience on Data Management, Data governance and Controls.
Experience in Google Cloud as a platform and proven record of leading data initiatives in GCP and hands on knowledge of GCP tools and data pipline.
Excellent interpersonal skills: collaborating, networking, influencing and navigating; able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Self-starter, self-motivated and able to work with specific, but minimal direction.
Proven experience in project management, change management, process improvement techniques and business case development
Proven experience in leading a team and working in matrix environments
Sound people management skills and inspirational leadership; experience of objective setting, assessing development areas and evaluating performance.
Ability to influence, engage and lead in a positive, inspiring manner.
Inspire trust & credibility among team members, business clients and other stakeholders through highest level of personal integrity, and ethical behavior.
