  • The Finance Systems Operations (FSO) team plays a pivotal role in the upkeep of applications used by Finance users across HSBC Group. The team provides various services like Access Management, Reference Data maintenance, Exception reporting, monitoring platforms / system performance and acts as a helpdesk in resolving issues raised by users and provides training to users when needed on applications supported.

The Opportunity:

  • Global Stress Testing exercise relates to an organization planning and forecasting projections thereby creating need for a niche expertise for its supporting teams. With emphasis on supporting strategic initiatives apart from regular PRA mandated exercises like - Credit Fast Monitoring (CFMD), BCST Projections Submissions, Credit Forecasting & Transformation (CFT), Basel 3.1 and IRR project support,WD30 Tzero Acceleration project support, Incremental DR exercises for Valuation in Resolution (VirVal2) (every Quarter along with mandated Annual exercise, Additional regional submission exercises, Climate Change, PRA has expanded scope of requirements which has an impact on all Stress Testing systems ASTIR, HERAS, SFACTOR and CaRT.
  • The incumbent of this role is accountable and responsible for managing and strengthening the Finance Systems Operations (FSO). The overall objective is to create an environment where there are minimum or no surprises, enhanced awareness amongst employees, timely escalations, and strict monitoring of all the Stress Testing applications performance and manage incidents effectively and efficiently. The role’s critical success factors include managing relations within GFOC and the larger HSBC Finance and Risk community; ability to work across teams/ sites/ time zones; influencing business outcomes.

What you’ll do:

  • The Global Stress Testing (GST) Operations supports the Group and local stress testing execution activities across Finance and Risk. The Program aims to provide solutions across process, systems and people to the stakeholders across a wider set of functions in Risk and Finance – central stress testing teams, Wholesale Risk, Retail Risk, Regulatory Reporting, Insurance Risk, etc… GFOC is actively involved in operations like FTP, External & Regulatory Reporting, Capital Transformation, RWA Optimization, Liquidity, IRR, Business Finance and Stress Testing. In recent years, significant investments have been made in building run the bank capability in GFOC to support the group in the Stress Testing execution. GST Support Function comprises of multiple sub teams ASTIR, HERAs, CART and SFACTOR to ensure delivery of the business objectives. The significant volume of large scale complex global and regional strategic change programs and business transformations impacting RTB service delivery requires a key leadership position in GST Systems Operations.

The detailed responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Manage end-to-end Stress Test Execution and ensure deliverables are met, escalate appropriately
  • Help stakeholders to prioritize and make key decisions in the Projections portion of the GST execution and re-runs
  • Promotes and takes accountability for service quality; identifies opportunities to improve delivery and oversees the governance process to reduce risk and ensure effective and timely decisions are taken
  • Establishing and building user confidence in robust production environments and excellence of GFOC support function
  • Understanding of production system support tasks performed during Daily, Monthly, Quarterly and Year-end close
  • Ensure that scope of work is consistent across all group, regional and site executions (in particular agreeing appropriate site / entities with the BAU team)
  • Ensure that the individual Stress Test Executions have clear ownership of deliverables and are consistent and
  • coordinated and that an overall high-level plan is produced which shows key dependencies where they exist
  • Ensure that all areas produce deliverables of appropriate quality and comply with the RTB Framework used within HSBC Business Transformation Framework
  • Ensure all related finances and resources are in place, assisting senior management to obtain budget and resources (where necessary)
  • Use the individual Stress Test Execution reports to develop an overall service delivery report that highlights key
  • deliverables, risks and issues
  • Hold regular meetings to propose and agree solutions to cross work stream issues that can be recommended to senior management
  • The role will also encompass of project management activities such as change planning and audience analysis; through to designing and delivering change interventions (e.g. communications, training, support, organization alignment); and tracking and taking actions on change readiness, adoption, and feedback as prescribed by BTF.
  • Understanding and interpreting the data calculations and validation within the application.
  • Evidencing a proactive approach – it is fundamental for this role that all stakeholders are kept informed of the progress of issues raised towards resolution
  • Strong understanding of implementing various automation tools on large scale Banking / Finance projects is a must
  • End to end understanding of the process within the agreed timelines or learning curve.
  • The level of performance is in sync with the target set as per the SLA/KPI.
  • Partnering with the IT and change teams for various systems to design and implement solutions as per requirement
  • Responsible for the coordination and governance of controls used in the system.

  • Governance of all issues encountered during production run and drive timely closure of all report failures / exceptions
  • Collaborate with the Application /Infrastructure Support Team for any issues related to underlying infrastructure

Change Management

  • Working with Business Users / application owners / Finance change delivery / Finance IT for any business,
  • infrastructure or application change to understand / assess upcoming changes
  • Collaborate with the Application /Infrastructure Support Team during Change release
  • Create UAT test cases and deployment support for small changes
  • Act as an SME for the processes, and deliverables of the project.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Engage with various stakeholders to understand the criticality and customer requirements and drive requests/ changes accordingly.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationship with customers and identify areas of service improvements by implementing regular calls and feedback mechanism
  • Influence and escalate key customer issues in an effective way to ensure timely resolution by adhering to incident management framework.
  • Continuous reviews of the customer issues and ensure products and services are tailored on an ongoing basis to meet expectation
  • Adhere to Incident Management framework and ensure timely follow up and prompt updates to Business & Management.
  • Influence and escalate issues / risks in an effective way to ensure timely resolution

Requisitos

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Skills / Experience

  • MBA / MCA / BCA / B.Com / B Tech : 15+ years of post-qualification in-depth experience of working in a banking
  • environment managing global service delivery in regulatory finance and/or risk space.
  • People manager with broad experience of managing teams of different workstreams
  • Experience of applying business analysis in a service delivery environment.
  • Experience in facilitation between Business and Technical functions to achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Stakeholder management experience, especially impactful communication, influencing and running project governance
  • implementation, change management and benefits realization.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders in a global environment.
  • A solid understanding of processes and systems used in the Stress Testing process
  • A comprehensive understanding of service delivery lifecycles and delivery methodologies
  • A strong appreciation of systems and data architectures, specifically in a Risk and Finance environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Experience in participating in internal / external Systems audits.
