The Opportunity:

  • Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
  • We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as Vice President - Data Remediation, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets. Reporting to the Head of Traded & Treasury Risk Data and aligned to the Treasury Risk & Whoelsale Customer data (GCDU) function, the individual will be responsible for driving Data Management improvements in the Risk processes operating within the Treasury Risk & Wholesale Customer data area, globally.

What you’ll do:

  • Be responsible for identifying, tracking and delivering data quality improvements for the Traded & Treasury Risk and Customer data (GCDU) Management Reporting and Analytical processes.
  • Support Head of Traded Risk & Treasury Data on creation of a data roadmap aligned to the Technology strategy to drive material improvements in the Data used within the Traded Risk & Treasury data processes, supported by a Data scorecard to measure “what good looks like”.
  • Support Head of Traded Risk & Treasury Data and Customer data to run the Data Forum with oversight of Data improvements from Transformation programmes, driving remediation of material BAU Data Quality issues, and remediation of regulatory programs including but not limited to BCBS 239, Basel3, Integrated Regulatory Reporting (IRR) etc compliance gaps.
  • Lead delivery PoDs for of all strategic data programs including but not limited to BCBS239, RREP per plan agreed within Traded Risk and Treasury Data and Customer Data forum (GCDU)
  • Represent Traded Risk and Treasury Data and Customer Data forum (GCDU) workstream in the Various Data forums to drive accountability and implementation of strategic data agenda.
  • Liaise with Group Customer data team, Finance & Treasury Risk teams to ensure controls are effective front to back across critical Traded Risk data
  • Ensure Data Management toll gates are embedded into Treasury Risk related projects to ensure initiatives become data management compliant during the project phase and with the transition into BAU
  • Act as a knowledge base / point of contact for understanding the Data Standards and Data Architecture strategy for the Traded Risk and Treasury Data and Customer Data forum (GCDU) function.

Requisitos

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Strong knowledge of data uses and flows within a large diversified global bank.
  • Strong knowledge of data quality issue root cause analysis and remediation
  • Knowledge of best practices in data quality monitoring and remediation
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements of a large diversified global bank
  • Knowledge of Finance function in a large diversified global bank
  • Knowledge of the role and product lines of the four Global Businesses and the responsibilities of the Global Functions and DAO.
  • Experience of large-scale projects
  • Experience of dealing with senior stakeholders
  • Experience of delivering business value in pressurized environments and under tight timescales
  • Experience in solving complex data quality issues.
  • Very Strong Project management experience in respect of multi-national projects
  • Experience of managing internal team members from a variety of skill sets and experience levels.
  • Ability to re-engineer processes and applications
  • History of successful project delivery within agreed time limits
  • Subject matter knowledge on data-related issues and solutions
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Data analysis
  • Use and design of Qlikview, Qlik Sense and other dashboard tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with ability to build & maintain relationships at all levels of the Bank.
  • Ability to build connections and work collaboratively across country and business borders

  • Have experience in data privacy and cloud (preferable).
