We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as an Vice President Branch Network Operations Control

Areas and Accountabilities 

Impact on the Function
  • To maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators related to Front-Office. 
  • To ensure teams benefit from appropriate training sessions in liaison with current and future tasks. 
  • To participate to all IWPB projects impacting First Line of Defense locally to anticipate changes and drive implementation of adequate monitoring when required. 
  • To ensure key risks, controls and monitoring associated included RCA library are maintained up to date and aligned with any new requirement 
  • To support quality check for ECC transaction approval for Country Head of Distribution and maintain appropriate turnaround time for client’s expectation.
  • Assist to monitor the Distribution performance, resource and capacity planning, branch closures/refurbishments and relocations, staff uniforms...to ensure the Distribution are in smooth and efficient operation.  
  • Be responsible for regional/area expense management and provide adequate assessment of individual location's capacity when required.
  • Implement and administer Assist Management’s operational strategy as prescribed in the FIM and as defined / directed by the Assist Management Senior Operations Manager and as required to support the delivery of processes, reporting and controls needed by the Management, its clients, Management counterparties and our regulators.
  • Identification, management, and mitigation of operational, regulatory and reputational risks within the Management operations function.

Customers / Stakeholders
  • Ensure a consistently high level of customer service across IWPB Branch Distribution, looking to improve customer experience.
  • Establish tools to measure and improve customer service standards and using these tools to take corrective action and implement improvements across IWPB Branch Distribution.
  • Manage the implementation of customer feedback, mystery shopper and customer satisfaction surveys.
  • To encourage best practices sharing and good level of communication between teams to drive the Brant Network community.
  • Working with the Risk function, to oversee risk management issues in the business, ensuring that business activities comply with Group policies and external regulators' requirements.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to implement all required control and compliance, eliminate non-value adding activities across Distributions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Treat customers fairly and with integrity.

Leadership & Teamwork 
  • To provide leadership and assist in driving a compliance culture across the business
  • Implement communication channels to support two-way communications, ensuring staffs have all information relevant to their roles.
  • Develop employee engagement initiatives following the Global People Survey to increase local engagement and morale.
  • Implement Retail Coaching framework to support the development of the Sales and Service team members in the Branch Distribution.

Operational Effectiveness & Control
  • Own and develop the HBVN Distribution Risk Control Assessment (RCA). 
  • Drives and manages HSBC control standards and follow Group Compliance Policy to minimize operational risk; is responsible for operational risk coordination and system maintenance.
  • Ensure operational integrity, safeguarding the bank from loss and protect reputation. 
  • Ensure that branch operations comply with local and regional audit recommendations. 
  • Complete tasks and fulfill responsibilities as outlined in CDD LoBP, AML Policy; Sanctions Policy and always stay vigilant to identify and report warning signs to detect, deter and protect customers and the bank from fraud and financial crimes.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience 

  • Distribution Network: 12 Branches/ Transaction Offices and 1 Contact Centre
  • No of IWPB Distribution FTEs: 580 FTEs
  • No of customers or relationships: ~500,000 customers
  • Ensure the Distribution satisfactorily pass internal/external audits
  • Ensure sales staff has good understanding of important local banking regulations as well as HSBC internal procedures (e.g. related to AML/USP/FATCA)
