The Securities Lending Operations Team sit within the Market Operations function. With personnel based in Kuala Lumpur, Bangalore, Hong Kong, London and New York, the team provide follow the sun coverage to Agency Securities Lending & Liquidity Services clients of HSBC Securities Services.

The Team are a key component of the Front to Back Operating model and deliver a wide range of Pre-Trade and Post Trade Services to the business and clients, ranging from the onboarding of institutions to the lending program and then all the way through the transaction lifecycle.

The is a dynamic and expanding operations team, supporting an ambitious and successful business, now seeking an outstanding candidate for this newly created Vice President role. 

The Opportunity:

This is a key leadership role within the Securities Lending Operations group, leading and managing the teams based in Kuala Lumpur and Bangalore. The role holder will be a member of the Securities Lending Operations Management Team. 

The role is functionally responsible for >30 personnel and for all onshore Pre-Trade and Post trade activities and controls, which includes, Trade Support, Trade Processing, Transaction Management. Exposure Management and Fee Billing.

The role holder will be responsible for the day to day leadership and management of the teams and their activities and will be the primary offshore contact for senior stakeholders within operations and the business, including the Securities Lending Trading Desk, the Product Teams and the Client Relationship Managers.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for the delivery of offshore Pre Trade and Post Trade activities, ensuring key targets for each function are met and risks/exposures are effectively managed.
  • Deliver a robust governance framework ensuring service quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Support business growth deliveries and operational change initiatives while ensuring their implementation to the operating model is controlled and structured.
  • Identify and deliver technology solutions to the operating model, building capacity, reducing risk and eliminating manual process.
  • Interact extensively with stakeholders, including the wider operations group, technology teams and the business, managing stakeholder relationships and representing the team at local and functional committees.
  • Lead and manage the team with a focus on their performance and career development, including effective career planning, structured goals and consistent and timely feedback through performance management.
Requisitos

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
  • Experienced Operations professional with significant exposure to leading across operational functions.
  • Able to thrive and to bring out the best in a team operating in a demanding and time sensitive environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to proactively engage across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience of implementing initiatives evidenced by a successful track record in new business and change delivery.
  • Strong understanding of and experience in managing non-financial risk.
  • Flexibility to work predominantly UK hours, but at times changing to cover Hong Kong or US hours.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • A sound understanding Financing and Liquidity products, services and supporting technologies.
  • Commercially focussed, with capability to interact and manage senior stakeholders.
  • Skilled at using and understanding technology and with a demonstrable growth mindset.
  • Coaching skillset supplemented for formal/accredited status.
  • A degree in Business or Finance would be preferred.
