The Opportunity:
- Global Finance is integral to HSBC’s purpose and strategy, playing a valued role in managing finances and costs and deploying capital in the most effective way. Finance operations ( Fin Ops ) is core to Global Finance and provides a variety of financial support services to In-Country teams across the HSBC Group.
- The Change Lead will play a critical role in driving the successful implementation of finance transformation initiatives across Asset Management Finance Function. Working closely with the Global Finance Change Manager and Country Finance teams, the Lead will ensure effective planning, coordination, communication, and adoption of change initiatives. This role will serve as a key link between central program team and local finance functions to manage impacts, reduce resistance, and ensure readiness for change.
- The Finance Change Lead will be responsible for identifying Finance change, developing and executing change management strategies, supporting training and communication efforts, and ensuring that the business is equipped to adopt new processes, systems, and ways of working aligned with the Asset Management Finance transformation agenda.

What you’ll do:
- Work with the Global Finance change manager and lead the execution of change initiatives aligned to the strategic priorities of the Asset Management Finance function.
- Lead simplification of manual processes and reduce reliance on EUCs through Automation.
- Deliver structured change management strategies, communications, and adoption plans for global rollouts.
- Lead impact assessments, stakeholder engagement plans, and readiness metrics to ensure smooth implementation of change across diverse markets.
- Seeking out new more efficient ways of doing things, as technology functionality and systems change and as the group approves AI use cases, look at how AM Finance can leverage.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and implement Straight Through Processing, enhancing speed, accuracy and compliance.
- Champion the adoption of Rafter Google Cloud Platform across Asset management teams
- Lead General Ledger standardization across AM entities.
- Design and implement a centralized data strategy focused on creating a single version of truth, improving accuracy, and reducing reconciliation effort.
- Establish a single integrated database for multiple finance use cases—reporting, analytics, forecasting, and controls—eliminating redundancy and siloed data.
- Work with data, technology, and country teams to build standard, scalable, and compliant data solutions supporting both global and local reporting needs.
- Help maintain agile backlog, working with developers on requirements and help analysing any queries or data discrepancies.
- Support and create dashboards on Tableau/Looker for controlling quality of data in Google Cloud.
- Partner with in-country teams, AM regional sites and global AM Finance team to ensure changes are understood, properly socialized and training provided where needed.
- Actively drive the Tableau initiatives across AM teams, enhance reporting by developing best in class Tableau dashboards across AM finance.
- Play a proactive role in identifying and addressing areas for improvement to the reporting processes to gain efficiencies (includes using Tableau capabilities to enhance our current processes), which is inclusive of, but not limited to assisting with local development and implementation of financial applications.
- Representing AM in change forums, understating the change / impact on AM finance process and ensuring smooth implementation
- Drive the team to assess, interpret and implement new regulatory requirements and internal policy changes
Customers / Stakeholder management
- Effectively manage key relationships, including the Site Financial Controllers, Chief Financial Officer, Global Change Lead, Regional and Group Financial Reporting Team, Finance Systems Operations Team, Global and Site MI leads
- Demonstrate a robust understanding of all key internal and external stakeholders and their individual requirements
- Demonstrate effective relationship management with stakeholders at all levels
- Continuously engage and support stakeholders on evolving business and functional requirements
- Establish an effective and robust communication channel with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely flow of information and continuous feedback mechanism
- Engage with stakeholders through fact-based conversations, building strong relationships and providing challenge, where appropriate
- Anticipate and address issues and concerns from stakeholders, resolve them in an effective manner
Operational Effectiveness & Control:
- Maintain and drive strong controls around data integrity and accuracy for all deliverables
- To continually assess the operational risks inherent in the processes, taking account of changing operating procedures, staff movements, legal and regulatory requirements, management restructures, and the impact of new technology
- Effectively drive and manage change, plan business contingency and achieve cross-training
- Ensuring BCP plan is documented, agreed with business partner and tested as per agreed timelines
- Adherence to Group policies, IFRS reporting requirements, audit, controls and compliance requirements.
- Robust back up planning for uninterrupted service delivery.
Leadership & Teamwork
- Demonstrate leadership, including the provision of guidance, coaching and timely feedback to improve effectiveness
- Support the retention of key talent, and the attracting and developing new talent and skills
- Engage with leads and colleagues across all functions and entities to promote consistency and teamwork.
- Design and enable training on transformation – with a particular focus on developing commercial acumen, business partnering capabilities and technical accounting knowledge
- Provide an escalation point for the resolution of issues and support the management of workloads to meet business critical deadlines
- Co-ordinate & effectively communicate with other teams in diverse locations across in-country / FinOps. Ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders of different seniority and geographical location;
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Functional Knowledge
- Recognized professional Accounting or Management qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA/MBA/ICWAI) with 15+ years of experience predominantly in Finance, including in leadership positions managing complex requirements from senior stakeholders
- Experience in Finance Transformation, Systems Implementation, Change Management ideally within Asset Management Finance.
- Deep understanding of Finance, General ledger & MI systems, Close & reporting processes, and financial controls.
- Experience in finance data management, Finance Information Dataflow, reconciliations, centralization, and system workflow.
- Knowledge of digital finance tools, AI/ML applications in finance, and cloud-based finance platforms will be preferred.
- Qualifications or sound experience in visualisation tools, Tableau/Qlik/Looker/Power BI. Tableau an advantage
- Qualifications/sound experience in Google/Python/SQL and JIRA & Confluence skills preferred
- Proven track record of role in controllership in BFSI sector and sound knowledge of financial products
- Strong experience and working knowledge of General Ledger like Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft including related data flows
- Experience that demonstrates ability to deliver BAU and Change/ Transformation Projects
- Strong formal written reporting skills and experience of drafting papers for Board-level audience
- Commercial mindset with strong execution and problem-solving skills.
What additional skills will be good to have?
- Proven track record of driving re-engineering, process synergies and technology-based solutions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge on Project Mgmt. tools like JIRA & Confluence will be preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage the competing views and opinions of multiple senior stakeholders and ensure timely delivery
- Ability to work under pressure, report to tight deadlines and deal effectively with issues as they arise
- Strong people skills and a high degree of motivation and commitment.
- Experience in designing, implementing and validating the effectiveness of process controls
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to frequent and multiple changes
