Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.  

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Wholesale Credit Risk Management. 

Principal Responsibilities

The role holder is part of the Wholesale Credit Risk Management team to perform a number of tasks broadly described below.

Lead the coordination of all portfolio management activities within SGH WCRM including: 

  • Coordination of all portfolio reporting functions across WCR, PB, SCU such as for RMM, Board and quarterly updates, among others
  • Coordinate within WCRM  for any portfolio deep dives and papers that will be presented to senior management at the Country, Region, Group level
  • Act as key point person within WMR to liaise with other functions (i.e. Finance/Region) over Stress Testing requirements (MAS, HKMA, PRA) and coordinate the efficient and timely submission of such reports
  • Review, challenge and consolidate stakeholders’ submission prior to submission to regulator
  • Coordinate works such as regulatory submissions for WCMR, Credit Delegation Authorities, and other ad hoc projects / initiatives within WCRM as may be required to assist the Head of WCRM for such initiates
  • This role will also supports the control management activities in WCRM, responsible for leading and directing maintenance of an effective operational risk and control environment for all our control functions
  • Supports the Wholesale IFRS9 ECL process and related activities within Singapore WCRM 
  • Support Model Risk Management activities
Requisitos
  • Strong knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc
  • Proven ability to develop and communicate effective arguments confidently to senior management and the regulator
  • Evidence of ability to make key strategic decisions
  • Proven ability to work well in a team, be cooperative and open, and embrace diversity
  • Numerical, with excellent analytical skills and ability to connect external trends with business activity
  • Ability to work in high pressure environments
