Your career opportunity
Join HSBC Service Delivery Polska in GSC Krakow within GPS Operations. As a Payments & Securities Screening Specialist, you’ll help protect the bank and our customers by screening cross-border payments, securities, manual payments and customers against sanctions and embargo requirements. You’ll investigate system-generated alerts, document outcomes clearly, and escalate potential matches when needed, working closely with offshore Screening Utility and Quality Assurance teams to deliver high-quality, on-time results.
What you’ll do
- Screen and investigate cross-border payments, securities, manual payments and customers against sanctions and embargo requirements using the provided screening tool.
- Review and process system-generated alerts within agreed deadlines and service levels.
- Investigate alerts in line with global sanctions policy to determine false positives versus potential or true matches.
- Use internal and external sources to support investigations, including customer databases and reliable internet sources.
- Document screening decisions and investigation outcomes to provide clear audit evidence.
- Escalate cases to the next level when required and follow up with relevant parties to resolution.
- Act as a subject matter expert, supporting colleagues, training new joiners and providing process cover when needed.
- Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders, including offshore Financial Crime Compliance Operations and Quality Assurance teams.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Solid knowledge and practical experience in screening processes.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex screening rules and scenarios.
- Ability to work accurately under time pressure and manage multiple applications at once.
- Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on quality and minimal rework.
- Good interpersonal skills with clear written and spoken communication.
- Fluent English; German language skills are an advantage.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
- Teamwork mindset, flexibility with shifts and a proactive approach to working in a changing environment.
What we offer
The pay range for this role is 6884 PLN - 8500 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
