We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of AVP – Python Developer - Quants  

What you’ll do:

  • Building a first class python ecosystem of libraries, infrastructure, SDLC automation, documentation and tools to speed application delivery
  • Partnering with the equity derivatives front office, quants, structuring and IT teams to migrate existing and develop new pricing, marking, and trading tools for the stratpy python environment
  • SDLC automation and self-service to give ability for an application owner to on-board and release their app with minimal overheads. Including facilities for unit, integration and regression testing
  • Provision of Jupyter notebook services for a controlled environment to manage and run notebooks
  • Packaging of re-usable Equities Python libraries as components to be consumed in multiple applications
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Good experience (At least 3 years hands-on exp) of development in Python, preferably in field of finance.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)
  • Takes a disciplined approach to software development in all stages – analysis, build, test, and support - using best practices
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a complex and global environment
  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and own an entire project from inception to deployment
  • Should possess good quantitative aptitude skill.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Candidates with some experience of working on derivative products, their pricing, risk management and C++ will be preferred.
