We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President, Model Governance, Traded Risk Global Risk Analytic.
Principal responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret regulatory requirements and internal policies related to model risk management, particularly in the context of Traded Risk models.
- Collaborate with model developers and owners to ensure compliance with model governance policies throughout the model lifecycle.
- Develop and document internal procedures and templates to support model developers in adhering to regulatory standards and best practices.
- Maintain and update the model inventory, ensuring accuracy and completeness of model records, including all models and adjustments.
- Track the status of models, including their validation, approval, and performance monitoring metrics.
- Prepare formal documentation, including procedures, meeting packs, and regular model governance reports for senior management and governance committees.
- Assist in coordinating and conducting periodic model reviews and validations in collaboration with validators.
- Identify opportunities to automate governance processes, reducing manual effort and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Develop tools and applications to enable more efficient and streamline model risk governance
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in model risk management.
- Provide guidance to model owners and stakeholders on governance policies and best practices.
- Analyze different problem statements for actionable insights to support model-related activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in risk management, model governance, data analytics, or a related field within the financial services industry.
- Experience working with Traded Risk models and understanding their development and validation processes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to model risk management (e.g., SR 11-7, SS1/23).
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and familiarity with JavaScript for tooling development.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, R).
Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
