We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering Specialist.

Principal responsibilities
- You will be working closely with the CIB Client Services Engineering Leadership team, leading the engineering transformation across our Customer Due Diligence application.
- You will be designing and building solutions using microservice architecture, working closely with the product team to understand requirements and impact of changes being made.
- You will be expected to lead by example, delivering solutions at high cadence for the build out of both new functionality and the replacement of legacy systems whilst also supporting other teams to achieve the same.
- You will be working to release change to production every day, owning requirements through discussions with the business through to development, testing, release to and support of production.
- You will be leading engineering excellence and the development of a strong engineering culture across our teams – influencing behaviors and removing barriers within the teams.
- Extensive experience building applications using non-breaking principles, particularly in developing RESTful APIs.
- Extensive experience developing microservices using highly iterative methods to deliver change to production regularly. Experience delivering microservices without using frameworks like SpringBoot is a plus.
- Extensive experience working with Java, preferably more recent versions (17 and greater).
- Extensive experience building and managing database schemas using PostgreSQL.
- A keenness to learn new skills and technologies as the role requires.
- Both experience in and a passion to influence global teams of engineers in transforming the engineering mindset and culture amongst the group.
- Experience dissecting business requirements and supporting teams to deliver them iteratively to production at high cadence without large planning cycles.
- Experience with building and supporting tooling for CI/CD on Kubernetes is a plus.
