We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director Software Engineering.

Principal responsibilities

• Oversee project and development activities for Transaction Banking, provide leadership at both functional and technical level. Be hands-on whenever necessary. 
• Functionally Lead the Transaction Banking delivery teams and ensure the solution design and deliverables address performance requirements and scalability, availability, security challenges etc.
• Liaise with relevant business areas, IT teams and other functions to ensure that delivery requirement and scope is captured and understood properly.
• Track and record software delivery progress and resolve any risks and issues; communicate effectively to business partners, global and regional functional leads.
• Support the team on a daily basis, ensuring that appropriate escalation and communication channels are in place.
• Work closely with Hong Kong, Global and functional team and support functions to ensure service is delivered to a consistently high standard.
• Contribute to the execution of Transaction Banking strategy, especially architecture, DevOps, workforce transformation and Location Strategy, promote Agile working practices throughout the team.
• Develop employee knowledge and engineering skills in specific areas of expertise, in response to Transaction Banking technology and business strategy. 

• University graduate with degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant discipline.
• Solid experience in leading experienced engineers for the delivery of complex projects and under diversified or matrix structure.
• A minimum of 12 years’ experience in Software Delivery in a Financial Services industry with experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
• A minimum of 8 years’ IT management experience, skills in people management / coaching, team transformation, performance & diversity management.
• Working experience in banking technology, knowledge of Transaction Banking products and their life cycle.
• Experience in delivering cloud based, distributed event driven architecture.
• Working experience Agile delivery methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with good command of both written and verbal English, fluent Mandarin is preferred.
• Strong reasoning and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
• Highly organized mindset with the ability to work under pressure and operate in a global multi-functional, matrix environment with high degree of cultural & employee diversity.
• Proficiency in resource planning and budget control, effective time management and prioritization skills.
• Well organized and rigorous, team player and highly motivated with strong Influential skills.
• Flexible and able to easily adapt to change and willing to learn and explore various technologies.
