Global Markets is part of our HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking division, a markets-led, financing-focused business that provides investment and financial solutions. Our Markets business is one of the largest of its kind in the world. It combines sophisticated 24-hour global coverage with a detailed knowledge of local markets. Our services are offered both online and offline in 58 countries and territories. We specialize in foreign exchange, credits and rates, structured derivatives, equities and debt, equity and equity-linked capital markets.
Responsibilities:
Impact on the Business/Function
- Effectively maintains various risk positions and manages within position limits, providing liquidity and trade ideas to clients while trading within set limits to help the trading team achieve a given revenue target
- Ensures correct ticket entry and order routing, maintains communication with sales desk and assists in resolving any settlement problems, ensures ticket entry completion and provides general trading activity support, as necessary
- Provides consistent pricing and market making to sales force and target clients
- Monitors all daily electronic trading activity and determines where certain trades should be routed for execution, reviews all activity for accuracy of account information
- Executes firm and customers' trades in accordance with desk Volcker designation and may contribute to the formulation of trading strategies
- Ensures all trades are booked to front office position keeping system on the day they are executed
- Reconciles daily and/or monthly reports, as assigned

- External and Internal Clients: Networks, develops and nurtures client relationships, anticipates and identifies their needs
- Internal Collaboration: Develops close and effective working relationships within respective Regions/Countries/Functions/Global Businesses
- Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets

Operational Effectiveness and Control
- Develop and recommend changes and improvements to operating models, procedures and practices based on subject matter expertise and understanding of HSBC and market best practice
- Communicate and adhere to HSBC policy and procedures in order to ensure good operational, financial and project management, policy and procedural compliance and early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
- Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels
- Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the application of policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance
Information
Skills & Qualifications
- More than 5 years institutional trading experience, detailed knowledge of all aspects of trading compliance. Knowledge and experience in Foreign Exchange and Market Rate will be an added advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or equivalent work-related experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, must have strong analytical skills.
- Ability to multi-task and to work well under pressure, strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to understand and manage complex and diverse instruments.
