In this role you will prepare and deliver the financial reporting for the Head of Business Performance, with a primary focus on month-end reporting and forecasting analysis across all Lines of Business (Retail & Commercial Banking).

The role provides broad exposure across key finance disciplines and strong visibility of how all bank functions operate together.

It also offers the opportunity to build a solid understanding of the financial performance of HSBC banking products, enabling you to make a tangible impact by helping stakeholders interpret results, identify emerging risks, and highlight opportunities for growth.

In this role you will:

• Prepare Management Information (MI) to provide clear, value-adding insights to the business, including PowerPoint presentations summarising key financial KPIs, as well as drafting business performance summaries for the Head of Business Performance and the rest of the Finance Team
• Participate in the country financial reporting and budgeting cycle, monitoring monthly performance by business and function against the approved plan through variance analysis and forecasting
• Partner with the Head of Business Performance to support senior management decision-making, providing commercial insight and constructive challenge where appropriate
• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships to support strategic change and ongoing business priorities
• Deliver analysis across assigned business areas, identifying opportunities for growth and actions to mitigate emerging risks
• Implement controls in the reporting process, to ensure outputs are accurate, relevant, and delivered on time

• Self-confidence and credibility in representing the department
• Excellent written/PPT communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact by ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Microsoft Excel knowledge, to manage databases and extract key information
• A broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting in a financial services environment is highly desirable
