The Business Support Manager will play a key role across several of the Corporate Sustainability pillars, including reporting and tracking of business performance and people agenda.
This position reports to the Head of Corporate Sustainability, Americas and is responsible for supporting the Global Sustainability business, ensuring effective operational support for philanthropic giving, sustainability activities and the operational procedures. The person in this role also provides general business administration support to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of the function and general support to the team.
As our Business Support Manager you will:
- Support the deployment of the US philanthropic budget:
- Work with the Vice President (VP) Philanthropy, Grants Administrator, and nonprofit partners to conduct charity reviews on strategic grants, execute legal grant agreements, conduct payments, and collect tax documents
- Manage IT systems and vendor partners like Cybergrants and Giving Force Volunteer Tool administration
- Act as the general operations manager of the team:
- Schedule meetings and booking event/conference room space
- Manage the travel and expenses of the SVP
- Manage Corporate Sustainability and US Corporate Sustainability Operations general inbox inquiries
- Manage Business Continuity plan, exercises, and BIAs
- To be an expert in PowerPoint, Excel, proofreading, corporate writing and helping the team to prepare presentations when needed
- Help manage events both in person and virtual
- Help manage and post a calendar of social content for new HSBC Workplace Community
- Corporate writing support with some climate expertise to write transition plan Assessments for eight US clients in scope, supporting Climate VP
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $57,600.00 and $86,300.00
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
- Solid understanding of operational procedures and the bank’s three lines of defense
- Strong project management skills required, and event planning skills a plus
- Strong financial and accounting acumen
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form effective relationships and influence internal stakeholders
- Ability to work well under pressure and independently are requirements for success in this position
- Ability to multi-task and maintain business and project deadlines
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
