We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering
In this role, you will:
- Responsible for contributing architecturally to all the Calypso applications under the DCS umbrella.
- Accountable for the end-to-end delivery of different projects, preparing a technical delivery plan and ensuring the timeliness
- Work closely with architecture team to deliver solutions that appropriately address business needs and timeliness having futuristic thought process and embedded design thinking
- Providing guidance to the DevOps engineers on the engineering approaches to implement solution
- Define processes and tools best suited for the project. Should have the ability to work in a Dev Ops & Agile fashion.
- Decision Making - Identifying problems and steering towards implementing solutions, making decisions based on sound, rational judgement.
- Manage/maintain and upgrade the DCS Calypso Infrastructure. Prepare Vulnerability mitigation plans and work with the team to implement it.
- Identifies and analyses complex problems involving the wider team; generates feasible and creative solutions considering all aspects and consequences; leads brainstorming meetings to discuss and/or resolve problems
- Questions current state and facilitates stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement
- Responsible for line management responsibilities to ensure the staff is engaged on the deliveries. Responsible for forming and driving high performing team.
- Exhibits high energy, understands issues within team and galvanizes others to achieve goals
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- 14+ years of IT experience in successfully delivering complex technology solutions within a defined Software/Systems development life cycle in Investment Banking domain.
- Experience in SDLC & Agile project life cycles to gather functional and technical requirements, project timeliness driving the design and development of the project.
- To architect, develop, and implement technical solutions using Java, XML, Unix, and Oracle.
- To drive automation, performance tuning, and process improvements.
- To ensure compliance with business, technical, and regulatory standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, presentation and analytical skills.
- Drive platform improvement initiatives like improvement of performance, production stability
Requirements
- Excellent Calypso knowledge and can act as SME with strong experience in rolling out Calypso (Vendor) product
- Strong experience in rolling out and managing Application like Spring, Spring boot and Microservices.
- Subject Matter expert in Clearing business and understanding of operational model of different Clearing Houses like LCH, CME, ICE, HKEX, EUREX etc.
- Excellent grasp on Java, Java EE, Spring, Spring boot, Shell Script, PowerShell, Python, Cloud
- Strong experience with design and development of applications using Integration / Streaming / Reactive Frameworks.
- Experience architecting solutions for various deployment profiles (On Premise / On Cloud).
- Exposure to Message/Event driven architectures working with IBM MQ, ActiveMQ etc.
- Exposure to industry standard financial message formats such as FIX, FPML etc.
- Exposure to SOAP / Restful APIs
- Exposure to message serialization and data interchange using XMLs, JSON etc.
- Strong Exposure on RDBMS (e.g. Oracle19c, Sybase, PostgreSQL).
- DevOps & Tooling expertise with exposure to Continuous Integration and Automated Deployments using tools such as Git, ANT, MAVEN, Gradle, Groovy, Jenkins, Sonar, Ansible (AAP), Run deck etc.
- Exposure to regulatory reporting guidelines by various regulatory authorities, e.g. FCA.
- Strong knowledge of Global Markets traded products like Interest Rate, FX, Credit and Equity businesses.
