We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Credit and Capital Management Data Quality Manager.
In support of our ambition to be the world’s #1 Corporate & Institutional Bank, we are accelerating our plans to improve our Credit and Capital Management processes to drive better customer outcomes and enable growth. Credit and Capital Management COO aspires to establish a world class end to end credit management function, uplift customer experience, deliver a modern risk management capability and mechanisms to actively manage and distribute the Bank’s balance sheet.
The CCM COO Data Quality Manager will be required perform various levels of analysis on data quality issues that impact CCM data consumers, with a particular focus on understanding the root cause and root source of the issues. The CCM COO Data Quality Manager will also be responsible for ensuring end to end delivery of any data quality remediation activity under CCM, with a priority to align to the CCM data models and the FSA.
This role reports to Head of Credit and Capital Management Product & Data Control within the CCM COO function. The CCM Product & Data Control team is responsible for ensuring CCM operates with clear and transparent data controls and standards, the team is also responsible for leading remediation of data quality issues and work with consumers of CCM data to ensure alignment across data models.
Principal Responsibilities
- Review and analyse business processes and systems to understand the underlying cause of DQ issues, working with SVS, IT and CIB
- Developing portfolio roadmap for respective area and execution against that roadmap
- Manage the project approach and build stakeholder buy in around the project plan, commitments and changes
- Development of control structures and performance scorecards (KPIs) to ensure DQ project milestones, budgets, resources are met, implementing mitigating actions as appropriate
- Working with CCM Data Product Owner, ensuring any solution is feeding into the CCM Data Models
- Ensure that the data remediation meets the HSBC data controls standards
- Ensure that the data remediation is fit for purpose for all use cases for the Group Businesses and Functions

Experience
- Strong background in Data and Data Management
- Excellent knowledge of Group Risk Analytics
- Experience in Credit and Lending is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of Python and Hadoop would be beneficial
- Proven ability in driving change in data and technology teams using agile methodology
- Business Analyst experience; requirements gathering and conducting design activity with a mix of business and technology-focused products/ projects
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving ability
- Proven ability to rapidly develop subject matter expertise in a range of technical and non-technical areas
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical matters effectively with senior management
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
- Highly motivated self-starter with proven ability to work collaboratively within teams and to deliver on time
- Sound judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems
- Proven ability to work across regions whilst maintaining a global perspective
- Ability to work with IT teams to deliver on tight schedules
