We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Data Manager - BUSINESS DATA RESILIENCE RISK.
Principal responsibilities
- Perform high level review of work in progress or finished project to ensure correctness, accuracy, and conformance to GPB Head of Data business requirements and IWPB Global Data Team’s objectives.
- Cross business alignment of information to meet Global Private Bank & Wealth Hong Kong and Asia regional business needs and management reporting.
- Implement the vision and objectives for the market, regional and global data teams.
- Engage and ensure that local business owners are identified to be accountable for data quality issues, data privacy controls, and that ensure mechanisms exists to highlight potential data problem areas.
- Implement data governance, risk and control processes to ensure they align to the Global Private Bank Data Strategy and Group Data Control Standards.
- Prompt escalation of any identified data issues or address potential data control gaps at early stage.
- Organize market and regional data governance forum and respective working groups, engage key stakeholders as required to resolve any data issues identified within agreed timeline,
- Support Global Private Bank global data initiatives execution in local market and region
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders with respect to data initiatives, support the data flow and data architecture review.
- Leverage the data and information infrastructure to support business community information needs.
- Work with the business functions to implement a timely and effective data strategy.
- Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements):
- The jobholder is required to adhere with the Group Data Risk and Control Policy and Compliance guidance.
- He/she should work closely with market Risk, Compliance or respective 2LOD and take pre-emptive measures to reduce/mitigate potential operational risk.
- He/she should pay attention to marketing activities encompassing local and cross border data sharing and selling restrictions.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field dealing directly with data management required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Services Banking, Wealth Management and Capital Markets business processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of data structure, data systems, tools and related software and data management policies and practices in a complex organisational environment.
- Proven record of effective leadership, including the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities, building teams and consensus, getting things done through others not directly under his or her supervision and working ethically.
- Project Management skills like project planning and tracking, issues identification and management, project status reporting.
- Experience in facilitation between Business and Technical functions to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Business process analysis skills, ability to analyse and document the current processes and organisations that create and manage the client data.
- Data analysis skills with ability to analyse the different client identifiers and client hierarchies and understand the relationship between them and any controls currently in place
- Previous experience with process and data management tools will be a plus, including but not limited to Collibra, ARIS, Qilksense, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL and Python tools
- Experience running data management, risk and control programs or organisations at a large financial services institution.
- Preferably a recognized data management qualification e.g. DCAM or detailed knowledge thereof.
Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
